We are so happy to share with you this wonderful production from Mark Wilkinson featuring the vocals of soul legend Kenny Thomas, sounding fresh for 2021!

Multi-platinum selling and twice BRIT award-nominated Kenny Thomas inspired this special collaboration after appearing on Mark Wilkinson’s Straight-Talking interview which you can watch back here: https://tinyurl.com/MarkWilkinsonOfficial. Mark was so moved hearing Kenny’s story that he decided to make this track happen.

For those of you who are not aware, Kenny’s daughter Christina was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour at the age of four. Opinion was she had six months to live, as the only medical treatment on offer in the UK was non-curing with devastating side-effects. 

Deciding to reject those treatments, Kenny and his wife Francisca searched for alternative options outside of the UK and were fortunate enough to find experts in Germany who have given Christina the medical help she needs. 

Christina is now a happy 8-year-old who remains reasonably stable and the entire Thomas family continue to defy all the odds stacked against them. The fight goes on without respite, and while we all hope and pray, Sweet Sweet Music is a track to help fund Christina’s ongoing treatment which continues to be a huge expense.

Making this track even more special and a true family affair is Christina’s Mother; Francisca Thomas who provides backing vocals.

Kenny Thomas’s 30th anniversary album will be released later this year, and into 2022 he’ll be dropping a brand new album too. When you include both artists debut books (Mark Wilkinson’s – ‘Life Remixed’ out now and Kenny Thomas’ – ‘Baring my Soul’ coming soon) you can see that these guys are in their creative flow. Mark and Kenny have both described Sweet Sweet Music as ‘the best dance record we’ve ever made’.

Hot-stepping into the disco jungle, Hot Gorilla Records blur the lines between disco, funk, house and reworked edits. And they come at you with one aim and one aim only - to make you go bananas on the dancefloor!

Founded by Andy Buchan and Conan The Selector in May 2020 as the pandemic hit, the duo brought some much-needed ‘good times’ to the disco scene. And when clubs did open up again, they were straight into action, touring the UK as DJ support for The Brand New Heavies including sold-out dates in Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham. 

Musically they strut the line between disco, funk and house, championing original music and heavily reworked edits. 

And they’ve had plenty of dance floor success including several Juno Download No.1s, multiple Traxsource Top 10s and four tracks in the Best of 2021 Beatport chart. 

The Hot Gorilla Records family currently includes founders Andy Buchan and Conan The Selector alongside guests like Fingerman, Chewy Rubs, Mannix, Monsieur Van Pratt, Akeem Raphael and a big troop of funky monkeys. 

And with an album on the way, a 2nd birthday to celebrate in May 2022 and gigs across the UK and beyond, Hot Gorilla Records will continue to bring the ‘Good Times’ as they make people go bananas on the dancefloor.
