For an unknown reason, the Hotbox was absent from our radar systems for some time but we are relieved that it has given us new signs of life. To kick-off our Hot Series’ return, a rather vicious yet cheerful pilot will take the reins for our next foray into the Hotbox universe. Violently Happy (@djviolentlyhappy) is our next guest. Still shaping his sound, the Antwerp native found a connection to music through the flourishing queer community in the city. Drawing inspiration from artists like Eris Drew & Octo Octa, he always tries to evoke joyful emotions, while packing a serious punch in the process.

As the name suggests, prepare yourself for menacing beats with uplifting melodies. Steamy and sexy is what comes to mind when he thinks about Hotbox; and that’s exactly what you’re going to get. For over an hour, Violently Happy takes you on a high-energy trip leaving you with a big smile on your face. We can’t wait for what’s to come. Here we have the last set for now from this year's Nachtipod series from Olganitz. @moopie, even though it was his first time at this place, understood it immediately. His set at the lake was a pure joy for the dancers - less techno tunnel, more bouncy, less trippy, more looking right and left(field).
He paired vintage prog with dreamy electro that morning and even ventured slightly into italo territories. Well it's all rave and in the end Moopie's greatest talent is knowing exactly what that one track is that people need most right now.
