One of the online underground’s best-kept secrets, 18+ have garnered acclaim with a trilogy of mixtapes, leading to commissions by Prada and the Venice Biennale. Blending lyrical themes of sexual ambiguity, anonymity, voyeurism and fantasy in the digital era with a minimal, yet catchy electronic hip-hop-meets-R&B aesthetic, their intrigue is deepened by how little is known about this US boy-girl duo. As 18+ prepare to emerge from the recesses of the internet, their first commercial release drops on Houndstooth.  

As ever, cut and mastered by Matt Colton, the single ‘Crow’ (“a bass-heavy, finger-click-laden banger” – Tiny Mix Tapes), backed with ‘Horn’ (“haunting” – Dummy), is the first 7” on the label and is pressed to white, dinked vinyl in a strictly limited run of 300 copies worldwide.

Here at Moontown we have been fans of Brisbanes Laura Hill (Scraps) since discovering her 7" Secret Paradise on Disembraining Machine back in 2012. From there we moved back and forth through her discography and even brought her to Canberra a few times ~ Needless to say we had become intrigued, obsessed and addicted to the mysterious world of SCRAPS.

TTNIK (pronounced Titanic) is her latest full length, its a hard one to pin down - Call it club music with luscious cosmic sunburn ~ Addictive, playful and sludgy synth pop that works just as well in a club setting as it does booming through the walls of a dilapidated weatherboard queenslander on a steamy afternoon.

It is an absolute pleasure and honour to be releasing SCRAPS latest album TTNIK through Moontown ~ We hope you enjoy just as much as we do.
