Starting our week off with a silky smooth roller from Modem & Germa as they team up for a delightful slice of hypnotic groove for Irish based techno imprint Syncopated Records.

Syncopated Records welcomes Glasgow groove master Mod​ē​m to their new and refreshing imprint that has been focussing on minimalistic & groove focussed techno cuts. The six track EP is a fine collection of deep and rolling techno rhythms, built upon original tracks from Outflight boss Mod​ē​m as well as a collection of remixes, and a collaboration with Germa.

Mod​ē​m serves a powerful EP packed full of raw, driving, percussive and minimalistic groovy tracks. This release consists of three original tracks as well as remixes from Danny Wabitt, Marcelo Antonio, Mikrotakt.

Mod​ē​m & Germa serve up a chilling piece of hypnotic goodness as they team up on ‘ORRO’. Jeff Mill’s style syncopated bleeps are the star of the show here, whirling and gripping atmosphere with acute metallic hits, make the repetitive synth line so contagious. Rolling low end and tactile percussive grooves facilitate the rhythmic entity off the main sequence, and capture a thrilling and glossy atmosphere. This is hypnotic techno done properly.

Four Four Premiere: Mōdem & Germa - ORRO [Syncopated Records]

Today we host a premiere from Hykken's latest release 'Kill Shot' on Reboot Records. Kill Shot is easily defined as a peak-time jackin' house tool with a twist. Thunderous low-end accompanied by harsh stabs and progressive breaks can be heard throughout, driving the track from start to finish. Buckle up, this gets bumpy.

Today's premiere features Irish DJ and producer Hyyken, who boasts over 10 years of experience with music production. He has since garnered support from Patrick Topping, Pete Tong, Danny Howard, TSHA, Meg Ward, Disfreq and so on through his releases over the years. Featuring on BBC Radio 1 with his track 'Meet Me Later' that also saw a release on Monki's & Friends imprint, as well as 'Flatbush AVE' that dropped on Edinburgh's impressive Fresh Take Records.

Hyyken has earned slots at shows and festivals all around the country in recent years. Some of which include shows in Wexford, Waterford, Dublin and Louth all while supporting acts such as Shampain, Yasmin Gardezi, Obskür, Fionn Curran and more in the process. Hykken also made his festival debut at Outset last year, where he shared the Reboot Rave Society stage with numerous Irish artists like GES, Midweek and Sohotsospicy.

The Kill Shot EP is made up of 4 tracks in total. Retrograde, Kill Shot, High On You and Heaven Bound. Each composition does a fantastic job at sounding unique, while remaining coherent and similar to Hyyken's distinct interpretation of house music. Kill Shot is reminiscent of a peak-time party-starter that is cleverly crafted. Go ahead. Listen for yourself.

"I was really impressed with the theme of sleep that Guy Andrews (@guyandrews) tackled in [MT][NT][ET] and the idea of reflecting the mental activity that occurs during sleep. Based on this concept, I tried to reflect the sudden changes in dream state and the idea of not being able to continue the same dream after waking up, no matter how much we want to.
