Cheb i Sabbah was a musical pioneer, fusing together entire cultures of sound and music, pushing cutting edge blends of traditional songs with beats and ideas which were way ahead of his time.

"Chebiji" as he was affectionately known passed away November 6, 2013 at the age of 66, and we are releasing this special remaster as a benefit to his family: he has two kids and three grandkids, who are largely dependent on him. All the proceeds from this remix will go straight to the family.

We are currently recording lots of music - sketches, loops, sounds. Spending lots of time in the studio also made us think about the scope of music we feel comfortable working in.
When recording this mix we tried to pull together different styles of mixing, different types of tracks - but also record a mix that we would have enjoyed 5 years ago as much as we hope to enjoy it in 5 years. Unlike a set we’d play in a club environment, this set will most likely be listened to at home, alone or with friends before or after going out, so we took the shorter attention span people will have in that environment into consideration.

We also tried to showcase as much Whities records as possible, because we feel like growing into a proper family within the Young Turks universe.
Massive thanks to Rob for inviting us to record a mix for his great and diverse series and we hope all of you enjoy this.

Terron are Enrico and Matteo, both of German/Italian descent and grown up in Cologne, Germany.
The two started Terron in the summer of 2012, aiming to capture their idea of electronic music oscillating between techno and house. Not having shown their music to anyone for almost a year, Enrico gave a demo to Nic Tasker, the DJ and Boiler Room programmer, who also runs the new Young Turks imprint Whities. He realised their potential and decided to start off the Whities catalogue with their record. Now, they’ve just released their second record on Whities.

Who? Manchester based duo with a penchant for krautrock, love of vintage synths and a fascination with taxidermy. 

Why? Ghosting Season follow in the UK's grand tradition of leftfield electronica recalling everyone from Brian Eno, Aphex Twin right through to Burial. Their spacious soundscapes have already won them fans far and wide including Radiohead who they gave the remix treatment to and Sasha who has made them the first release on his new record label. Oh, and it appears to be mandatory to use the words 'ethereal' and 'haunting' when describing their music and you know, we don't like to break with protocol.
