'Double Divide' is the debut LP from Second Storey, released on Houndstooth on October 6th 2014.

Describing the music on Double Divide, Second Storey says: "The title of the album, 'Double Divide' refers to the different ideas I found myself exploring as the album progressed, relating to tension and release. The 'Double' being the double-intensity beat driven tracks and the 'Divide' being the antidote in the form of the ambient or more introspective moments." This duality is on display throughout the album, which hints at his wide-ranging influences, from the complex rhythmic structures and emotive melodic phrases of Aphex Twin and Autechre, the funk of Prince to Parliament, the crazed robotics of Drexciya and the raw techno sludge of Cristian Vogel and Neil Landstrumm, right through to dark drum and bass of artists like Ed Rush & Optical.

Tomorrow Sunday September 7th i’m excited to bring @cubby.c0m to the @particlefm realm for 2 hours of Belly Music. Cubby is a music producer, DJ, guitar player, and a top tier barista to boot. He recently started a weekly listening event at the @percyphl Sound Lounge called Spatial Awareness where I was graciously asked to be the first guest DJ and later a full on collaborator. Cubby is extremely talented and loved by the Philadelphia community. His styling and selection have tended to lean towards techno and harder dance music but in recent time I have witnessed his interest and approach in sound explore broader scapes in ambient, dub, post-punk, and beyond. He told me he’s been thinking about playing Belly Music for awhile so I’m anticipating something thoughtful and cared for.
