Irish DJ & Producer Colm K has been playing at his renowned monthly “Sunday Times!” for seven years and running, but began his interaction with the international music world after his selection for the Red Bull Music Academy in Rome 2003. This resulted in producing studio projects for Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, (including remix duties with Mr Scruff) and Brian Deady, as well as releasing music on Brownswood and Bastard Jazz. He’s also been featured on Ransome Note, Stamp The Wax and a Boiler Room mix. 

Having appeared on R2 Records for Seven Davis Jr’s comp “Future Society” we are happy to announce Colm K has produced an exquisite E.P. for us, each of the three tracks showcasing his versatility.

“Time” is a down tempo soul burner, the beats tight, the production crisp and the vocals of Aisling Kelly riding beautifully.

“Time Again” picks things up with a mid-tempo house track to melt any dance floor. Floating melodies cut with Colm’s signature crisp beats creating a steady growing soulful beast.

Finally “Uncertainty” sees Colm revert to funk break territory, but this time flips it with soulful chords, evolving into a delicious deep groove and synth workout before gently bringing us back down to Earth.

Completing a triptych of fantastic LPs for 2016, Will Saul’s Aus Music is delighted to announce the debut full length from Youandewan. The Berlin based Brit’s ten track 'There Is No Right Time' lands in October 2016 and shows a distinct development of his musical style. 
Youandewan is Ewan Smith, a DJ and producer who has quietly but consistently gone about forging his own tender brand of deep house. He has been doing so since 2009 and most recently settled on this label with tracks that are shy but seductive, and full of both motive and emotive forces. This album stays true to that narrative, but sees Ewan finding his feet with his most accomplished and elegant work to date. 
Much of the music was sketched out during a wintery Berlin three years ago. Having left London, hungover from a breakup, Smith found himself broke and secluded in an apartment for four months. All this lent the music he wrote a melancholic vibe; one that nods to the lonely nature of the job and to the darker side of constant partying and all that comes with it.
A swelling, expansive piece of melodic atmospherics starts things off, then the soft hues of analog chords bring a neon glow to the weightless whirl of ‘Be Good To Me, Poly.’ Soaring synths marry with a raw drum and bass combo on “Waiting for L,’ then ’Time To Leave (Can’t Mix)’ resets to a piano laced beatdown vibe that is wilfully wallowing. ‘10405 (Alice)’ is a shimmering, crescendoing piece, and from there the second half of the album begins to take an upward and optimistic swing through the floating, graceful harmonies of ’Our Odyssey.’ 
‘Something Keeps Me Real Quiet’ is a concession to the ‘floor with its rusted electro slither, ‘Left On Lucy’ calls upon friend Huerta for a hi-tech soulful house Derrick May would be proud of, and 'Earnest Kelly' nods to the ‘80s with its stomping retrosynthesis. Finally, ‘4D Anxiety’ allows all the pent up emotion and energy to dissipate via a playful hip-hop jam effortlessly tapped out on an MPC.
‘There Is No Right Time’ is a listening album that proves deep house done well needn’t be reserved for the club. It's a vulnerable and musical work that stays with the listener long after the final chords have dissipated.

Hard Ton, Italy's extravagant duo of all things house music are back on Luv Shack Records, unleashing six steaming hot tracks on the "Queer Nation EP" - a precursor to the first full Hard Ton album that is due for 2017. "Queer Nation" has singer Max swapping his falsetto with a dark mangled voice, paying tribute to some essential queer icons over a dry acid house track that rejoices in repetition, and rightly so. "Classic Music" head-honcho and old timer Luke Solomon's remix of "Queer Nation" builds up an intense 707 drum pattern, underlining rhythm guitars and Max's voice, ending in a bold acid climax. Italian newcomers "Younger Than Me" also take on "Queer Nation", marrying an early 80's wave touch with a classic house approach. When Hard Ton pair up with ROTCIV, "Style Ga-Galore" awaits us. The cut up hushed vocals are thrown into a lush melange of filtered pad shots, a 303 bassline and a percussive house groove. "Yeah Yeah" featuring Moralez & Sames is an ode to early Detroit and Chicago house, with Max singing vigorously, syncopated hihats swirling and stabs nodding towards lil Louis. The final track is a LeSale disco dub of "The Way You Rock feat. Mirror People". LeSale strips the original drums completely, rearranging the vox, piano and synths to fit his disco workout edit style, adding a cheeky synth bassline to complete the boogie redress. A Winged Victory For The Sullen, the otherworldly collaboration between Adam Bryanbaum Wiltzie and Dustin O’Halloran, commence the New Year with their third full-length titled Iris – available worldwide via Erased Tapes on January 13th 2017.

Adam Bryanbaum Wiltzie and Dustin O'Halloran first met the director Jalil Lespert after he had discovered A Winged Victory For The Sullen on a music search online. After listening to their music, he immediately knew: "it was the sound of my new film". With an excellent cast of France’s finest actors Romain Duris, Charlotte Le Bon, and the director himself, plus a script filled with tension, sexuality and darkness, they knew there was a lot of musical territory to mine. It was agreed that they wanted to explore more analogue electronique experiments as well as working with a large string ensemble, to create something that felt very modern and still cinematic.

“Despite A Winged Victory For The Sullen being associated with film score type music, trying to survive the process of creating the modern film score is not for people with fragile egos. It requires those who are the most responsive to change. The director and the film presented a new set of challenges, so we decided to stop thinking about cinema as an object, and moved closer to using the film’s images as triggers for experiences. The more we were able to let go, and see the music as something that happens, like a process – not a quality, the more we were able to reach a place that sounded like us. It was as if we were making our first record all over again, except being filtered through another language littered with dead metaphors”, the duo elaborate.

The recording sessions began with their long time sound collaborator Francesco Donadello in the form of some modular synth sessions in Berlin. Dustin and Adam began working from the script in their own studios, and after filming commenced they continued to create music that could be used for first edits of the film – each day getting new scenes that triggered ideas that would become the base of the film score. Over the course of the next few months the two slowly crafted the music with weekly discussion from their studio to the editing room. The final sessions to what is now the score of Iris were recorded with a 40-piece string orchestra at Magyar Radio in Budapest.

Upon label founder Robert Raths' request the over sixty minutes of material were then edited down to a concise album listen at forty-one minutes with a physical release set for January 13, 2017. The digital bonus track edition includes two solo pieces by Adam Bryanbaum Wiltzie entitled The Endless Battle Of The Maudlin Ballade Part 2 and The Endless Battle Of The Maudlin Ballade Part 3, as well as tracks by Petite Noir, dOP, DJ Pone and The Shoes which feature in the film. The artwork was created by Berlin based illustrator Stephanie F. Scholz who also created the iconic cover for Nils Frahm's Music for The Motion Picture Victoria.
