Sean Pierce debuts on Mannequin Records with an intense dark / techno modular synth 6 tracks EP. 

Currently operating out of Portland, Oregon, Sean is one half of ASSS, who put out two acclaimed singles on Mannequin Records parent label Haunted Air Records. 

One of the most fascinating elements of Sean's artistic principle is his absolute lack of propriety over his artistic work, which is a beautiful and radical approach. He encourages people to check out his set-up at shows to see what he's concocted. A performance is enjoyable in part because he's able to share information, for he believes a collective pool of idea sharing and advancements into how people think and what they're doing is "really important for the creative community.

Sean is interested in the rearranging of elements within a performance: taking sounds that he or someone else has made and sending them through his particular process. Specific categorization is not applicable to his sound projects, but he says there is something industrial about it, a metallic quality that is, of late, satisfying. The most appropriate articulation of his music might be: the percussive use of synthesizers.

Kohl is the dub-based project of New York City artist and musician Nathaniel Young. With Kohl, Nathaniel focuses on enveloping melodies and sounds that are often contrasted with subtle and evolving minimal textures and the rhythmic patterns generated from them. The resulting music is contemplative and warm, invoking reflection while maintaining a sense of motion/evolution. The Kohl project is an outlet for personal transformation; it is Young rewiring his understanding of morality and ethics. Interpretations of ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, ‘good’ and ‘evil’. Musically, Learned Ethics / Imposed Ethics is a fine collection of ultra-textural ambient pieces with minimal changes like "The Possibility Of The Infinite", slow tempo tracks like "Moral Supposition", the dance-floor focused "Resolution (Empathy)", and "The Inquisition", which displays Kohl’s signature dub-techno style.

Recorded and produced in summer 2016, NYC by Nathaniel Young. Vocal portions on tracks 3-4 contains dialogue between Nathaniel Young and Warren Mark Way.

The night was young as they began to walk the mean streets of the capital. Paris was alive with the sound of drums and raucous protest, in the distance the sound of whoops and cheers could be heard as the sirens began to roar ever loud. The rain poured from the distant sky and small puddles began to form upon cobbled streets, it was not a night for hanging back. Lights flickered softly behind shop windows and mischief lingered in the hollow air. 

BFDM is a French record label with a talent for showcasing some of the best in electronic music having released records by the likes of The Pilotwings, Dj Normal 4, J-Zbel and beyond. The next release comes from a familiar face to the label, Basses Terres, a singular producer with a distinct experimental sound. The release will be a mini LP, the 19th outing on the imprint.

The Keep is the solo project of Gothenburg-based Oliver Knowles, who combines his Indonesian heritage with a love for drones. The Keep will release his debut EP 'Primer' on Dec 6th.

"Gammalane is split into two parts. Part one of the track is meant to reflect a scenario that is both unsettling and beguiling at the same time. Being drawn to something that feels wrong or dangerous. Part 2 is ultimately the surrender and exhilaration that follows."

Primer is a collection of drones, noise and rhythms influenced by the vibrancy and excitement of Spanish and Catalonian street festivals that take place in Barcelona each year, where the record was written.

As well as the location, Knowles also marks other inspirations as films and their scores saying "With this EP, the tone of films like Under the Skin and Annihilation, and reading The Southern Reach Trilogy that Annihilation was adapted from was very influential." Although the tracks on the EP are instrumental, Knowles as a means to express intense personal feelings of anxiety or sadness created them. He used the four tracks on Primer to manifest these ideas in a positive way, allowing a sort of personal catharsis.

Born in Singapore, Knowles then lived in Indonesia until he was 6 and pays heritage to his Indonesian heritage on this EP by using samples of traditional Indonesian instruments, including a small Indonesian hand drum that his mother gave him years ago.
