Dave Mayer and I last worked together back in 2012 when I asked him to mix our Get Large Amsterdam compilation. We have kept in touch throughout the years and I have admired his consistent production work and successful DJ career. Late last year he sent over a demo pack that fit perfectly with the direction I planned to take Large in 2020 and I signed it immediately. I love the vintage feel to both of these tracks and there is just enough modern textures and sounds to provide a freshness and energy. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

Mexico's maestro of deep dons his third full length album on Harmonious Discord with The Love I Own; a collection of love songs drawing inspiration from deep house, lofi house, and techno. Ivan Dbri has been contributing to the HD imprint for over 10 years and we are excited to give his breathe of work the opportunity to collate into this very special release. Reminiscent of early Timewriter and Terry Lee Brown Jr. works Ivan blends staccato percussion with ultra-lush soundscapes, creating dynamically musical compositions that touch the soul.

A musically complex intro Prelude to Sex features organic percussion that lifts effortlessly into dance territory. Deep and romantic house music compositions like When the Music Feels Like Crying and Endless help listeners dive deep into their heads and propagate beauty in their surroundings. Knowledge Base wakes us up to lush dance territory with colliding house chords and synthetic accents floating lightly over rich pads. Sodoma and Gomorra gives us the same depth but with the pads in the back seat and features musical trills and uplifting accents amid a tense bass construction. What True Love is All About and The Love I Own return us to deep house territory with heavy lo-fi and breakbeat elements showing Ivan's ability to construct timeless music with range and depth. The breakdown in the The Love I Own creates a weightless atmosphere and floats listeners into uncharted depths. Love Letters for You is an HD favorite; the perfect blend of music and technology. Tense chord lifts and light techno drum constructions make this a perfect tool for any set. Danke closes us out with proper tribute to vocal house. Swung percussion, fat square basslines and cut vocals provide a proper send off to this delicious album.

We are delighted to welcome him to Cyanide with "The Soul Vibe", a track that perfectly defines his incredible ability to produce deep, bumping and groovy house music. 

The ep is completed by a stunning remix by the always effective Damian Rausch. This talented German producer has added a great dose of Soul to the original track, resulting in an exquisite and timeless Detroit House masterpiece.

Lifted from their 2019-released album ‘Pleasure Centre’, Kraak & Smaak’s single ’Same Blood’ featuring Los Angeles-based duo The Palms is making a timely comeback in this second half of summer, enhanced by a quartet of surefire reworks courtesy of Norwegian nu-disco don Prins Thomas and True Romance head honcho, Tensnake. 
A lavishly orchestrated indie disco-pop number, ‘Same Blood’ casts a spell of Californian summer upon the dancefloor with its coastal sunset-ish atmosphere, understated psychedelia and welcoming zero-G dreaminess that’s become a trademark of The Palms’ wistful musical imaginarium. Adding his club-optimised twist to the tune, Hamburg-based house escapist Tensnake unbridles the groove and tunes up the engines to develop the original mix's DJ-friendly potential to the full. Calibrated to grab the dancers and not let loose on them till the lights have gone off, both the short edit and extended version talk the most sensual body language and are primed to excel in transient moments, whether the sun is going up or down. 
Lulling us to a brightly hued utopia of hybrid disco-rock and faded early-days house, Nordic wizard Prins Thomas’ further lushly ornamented takes embark us on a trip down memory lane, with its funky slap bass, chromatic pads and soft bugle calls holding the rank of time-travelling vehicle. A total treat for the feet and senses, the classic ‘diskomiks’ treatment doesn’t disappoint, be it the vocal version which gracefully incorporates The Palms’ enticing singing into a further spacious, kosmische-tinged environment, or the instrumental one, which allows Prins Thomas’ widescreen production process to be fully underlined and the listener to lose himself in between tight-knit beds of complex melodic lines. Sail off to another dimension.
