Mexico's maestro of deep dons his third full length album on Harmonious Discord with The Love I Own; a collection of love songs drawing inspiration from deep house, lofi house, and techno. Ivan Dbri has been contributing to the HD imprint for over 10 years and we are excited to give his breathe of work the opportunity to collate into this very special release. Reminiscent of early Timewriter and Terry Lee Brown Jr. works Ivan blends staccato percussion with ultra-lush soundscapes, creating dynamically musical compositions that touch the soul.

A musically complex intro Prelude to Sex features organic percussion that lifts effortlessly into dance territory. Deep and romantic house music compositions like When the Music Feels Like Crying and Endless help listeners dive deep into their heads and propagate beauty in their surroundings. Knowledge Base wakes us up to lush dance territory with colliding house chords and synthetic accents floating lightly over rich pads. Sodoma and Gomorra gives us the same depth but with the pads in the back seat and features musical trills and uplifting accents amid a tense bass construction. What True Love is All About and The Love I Own return us to deep house territory with heavy lo-fi and breakbeat elements showing Ivan's ability to construct timeless music with range and depth. The breakdown in the The Love I Own creates a weightless atmosphere and floats listeners into uncharted depths. Love Letters for You is an HD favorite; the perfect blend of music and technology. Tense chord lifts and light techno drum constructions make this a perfect tool for any set. Danke closes us out with proper tribute to vocal house. Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory returns this October with a various artists package featuring Ben Rau, Dennis Quin, Stephane Ghenacia and Tommy Bones.
Over the years Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory has cemented itself as a go to for all things groove-driven in the House world, releasing material from the likes of DJ Sneak, Seb Zito, DJ Deep, Jamie Jones and most recently DJ W!ld. Here the label welcomes an array of
artists for a new various artist package. Inkal/Meta’s Ben Rau leads with ‘Be Who You Want To Be’, laying down choppy bass stabs
and crunchy drums alongside sweeping pad lines and vocal chants. Dennis Quin’s ‘Rubb’ follows next, taking a more raw approach courtesy of heavily swung percussion, fidgety resonant synths and intricately processed vocal hooks.
Stephane follows next with ‘Baraka’, stripping things back to a heady shuffled rhythm, chopped voices and his signature snaking bass groove before Tommy Bones’ Papi Huesos’ rounds out the package, shifting focus over to more classic house tropes with bright piano
chords, an acid tinged bass hook and airy string melodies.

We’re really happy to be announce the debut Freerange release from French multi-instrumentalist, DJ and producer Laroye. Even though he has releases dating back to 2002 (for the excellent Faces label run by Pablo Valentino) it is fair to say Laroye has really hit his stride in the last couple of years, gracing the likes of Visions Inc, Tiff’s Joints and Magic Black with percussion-heavy house jams with warmth and soul.

Lead cut ‘Be The Change’ is an exceptional track featuring the vocals of Carlos Mena aka Casamena of Ocha Records fame. With a doff of the cap to the grandmasters Ron Trent, Joe Clausell and Louie Vega, ‘Be The Change’ takes a soulful approach with Laroye getting deep on his analogue synths and heavy on the live percussion. The end result is a sublime slice of uplifting house which comes loaded with a positive message and stays true to the roots of the music that we love so much. In addition to the amazing full length original mix, Laroye has treated us to both an instrumental mix as well as a brilliant percapella version which strips things back to the bare bones for a tribal workout that can’t  fail to get your body spinnin’ like a whirling dervish.

 Closing the EP we have another original track entitled ‘Twisted’. A no holds barred shuffling groove keeps things bumping along while Laroye gets to work on his modular machines, sculpting and shaping the tones whilst the neck snapping bounce keeps the energy bubbling perfectly. Rocking on an old school tip but with a contemporary twist, this reminds us a little of the Detroit Swindle tracks from a few years ago which is no bad thing!

Smoove & Turrell have never been scared of a gamble, the acclaimed album ‘Stratos Bleu’ has seen their sound change and develop more than ever before. Though long lauded as important UK artists in funk and soul circles, this album has been an analogue affair, drawing on influences as diverse as Detroit Techno, Bristol bass as well as the breakbeat funk they are known for.

The album reached the dizzy heights of ‘No 1 in the Official UK Dance Charts’, and given the strength of the source material it seemed only right that S&T should issue this remix project.  Dance luminaries Hot Toddy, Ray Mang, Ashley Beedle, Steve Cobby and Dutch duo Fouk all signed up to work their magic, with a slew of  North East acts like Sorley, Rayka, Vandebilt, Twin Beam, DMC finalist  DJ Krash Slaughta,  Dr Rubberfunk, and the man himself Smoove all submitted reworks.  Eclectic really is word as this album traverses disco dancefloor heaters, with breakbeat, downtempo and hip hop, which is testament to the sheer quality of the music that has inspired the remixers to deliver this outstanding collection.
