The Spanish duo, also known as JNJS, have been busy working away on the third release for the label. SVDR3 is primed and ready to hit the record shelves in the coming weeks.

Following a chance meeting at Pikes in Ibiza, the two artists have gone on to form a strong friendship which has developed into something even more fruitful. Silat Beksi brings a slice of minimalist heaven in the launch of Caprices Festival's new vinyl label.

The Swiss outfit have been a strong influence on the tastes of electronic music over years as this year marks their 20th edition. Everyone from Ricardo Villalobos and Luciana to Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin are regular features at this annual feast in the Swiss Alps.

It was only a matter of time before they ventured into the vinyl market and continue their story on wax. The first release arrives in the form of five tracks spread across vinyl and digital from the Berlin-based Israeli Brizman. His previous work has landed on the likes of Subtil and Artreform Records along the likes of Priku and Christopher Ledger which featured on the Trommel channels last year. Joris Feiertag is a Dutch producer and live-act from Utrecht in the Netherlands who makes music that is a finely balanced combination of organic and synthesised elements, often using ingenious syncopated rhythms combined with instruments such as the harp and kalimba.

This autumn he will release Roots, his third album on revered German imprint Sonar Kollektiv. Having concentrated his attention on catchy hooks and a number of guest voices on his first, and deeper breakbeat workouts on his second, Joris felt it was time to deliver something that sat comfortably in a space somewhere between the two. The LP features not only a plethora of vocalists from across the
globe including Noah Slee, Falle Nioke, Nego True and OSHUN, but also sees the producer playing with some of his favourite vocal samples, as he does on Didn’t Know Why (You Lost Your Soul), the third single to be taken from the album.

When searching for a simple vocal hook to play around with, Joris had to look no further than his, or at least his label’s, own backyard. Taken from the 2018 album The Pool by Sonar Kollektiv founders Jazzanova, Slow Rise features the soft, soulful vocals of Bolivian born and Berlin based indie folk artist, David Lemaitre. Sampling your own back catalogue surely chimed with German efficiency, and before long David’s voice was being harnessed to great effect on this very catchy dance floor chugger.

The "Weimar EP" from singer/songwriter Albyrd is not only his first release under a new moniker; as his first self-produced record, it also marks one of many new beginnings. The end of the pandemic, the blossoming and withering of relationships - and of course, a tribute to his time in the city and how life's perspectives change. 

In 8 songs, Albyrd shows not only the range of his magnificent voice, but also how well soul and RnB can be interwoven with electronic music. With a feature from Miles Bonny, Mr. Lumberjack Soul himself, this tape is definitely one for the shelf.

The prolific Manuel Costela has worked in a range of house and disco styles over the years, but this three-tracker for Bengoa's Athens-based B2 Recordings finds him firmly in deep house mode. Opener 'Unpleasant Dreams' is a suitably drifty and abstract affair, albeit still underpinned by a hefty 4/4 kick and with sampled, spoken vox to stop it washing over you. It's 'I Feel It Coming' and 'Inner Journey' that work better for yours truly, though: both (the former especially) are just a little more uptempo and driving, and both add garage-y elements that help infuse proceedings with a little more soul and groove.
