With support from MK, The Magician, Bondax and the French Express crew, Australian house producer Lancelot has stealthily built up a name as one of his country's hottest talents - even being named by Mixmag as one to watch for 2014.

Lancelot now presents his debut release on Anjunadeep - the label that has nurtured talents such as Dusky - which sees him collaborate with exciting new act Antony & Cleopatra on two vibrant pieces of contemporary house music. Givin’ It Up builds from soft pads into an infectious slab of piano house with a infectious bass groove, whilst the two vocalists, Alex Burnett of Sparkadia, and Anita Blay of CocknBullKid, go back and forth on clandestine vocals.

Givin’ It Up is already getting attention from the right people, including T.Williams, Tensnake, Perseus and man of the hour, MK, who loved the track so much that he found time in his hectic schedule to turn out a remix. Expect that one in February.

On the flip, Make Ends Meet again features soulful vocals, textured with layers of chugging bass, brilliantly hooky melodies and clean skipping percussion. Blending stylish harmonics with a real dancefloor sensibility it rounds off an exciting debut on the label, packed full of complex, classy melodies and pure feel-good vibes.

An early stand out of our 2014 releases, “The One EP” firmly established Lane 8 as one of the most exciting young artists around, picking up heavy support from Pete Tong, The Magician and Tensnake.

Following the heavy-hitting Klangkarussell Remix that featured on the EP, Matt Lange, Baio and Bhok come together on a diverse, genre spanning remix package.

Matt Lange takes “The One” on a techy journey, twisting the searing bass of the original into a subtle, hypnotic melody, surrounded by trademark Matt Lange atmospherics and the infectious vocal.

“Nothing You Can Say” gets the remix treatment from Baio, who as well as being a Grammy winning member of Vampire Weekend is also making a name for himself with his solo productions on Greco-Roman and Future Classic. A quirky blend of stuttering clicks and warm flowing bass, his mix once again brings the gorgeous vocal of Lucy Stone to the fore.

Rounding off the package is a remix from up and coming UK producer Bhok, who’s early productions have garnered him the support of XLR8R. He brings his bass heavy style to “The One”, creating a complex low end roller.

Each track tells its own story: Come With Me emerged during Chizawa’s rhythm experiments, weaving tangled beats with echoes of ’90s big beat. Yellow Storm, on the other hand, feels like a forgotten record spinning under layers of dust and memory, haunting, sun-bleached, and deeply human.

Following his acclaimed Xenoverse LP on the legendary Belgian label R&S Records, and his early success with the single Asia, Chizawa Q continues to explore the emotional edges of techno. Deeply inspired by the Detroit tradition and jazz-infused electronics, his music draws from a rich lineage while carving a voice uniquely his own. The result is a journey as cinematic as it is physical. Techno with soul, for the floor, or for closing your eyes and disappearing.

Joonas Hahmo & Audioventura ‘Tomorrow’

Hahmo Recordings welcomes in the New Year with a driving melodic trancer that sees label boss Joonas Hahmo collaborating with Finnish newcomer Audioventura, who returns to the label after making a rather impressive debut with ‘The Beach’ last year, a record that earned a requisite nod from the benevolent leader of the trance scene himself, Armin van Buuren.

‘Tomorrow’ is a record that reinforces the Hahmo Recordings reputation of fusing polished studio work, deeper progressive vibes as well as euphoric mainstage trance. Drawing on those afore mentioned deeper vibes in its introduction, there’s a quick shift into turbo-charged grooves after the drop, with its powered bassline ensuring ‘Tomorrow’ isn’t left wanting for energy. The lush melody that’s welcomed in the breakdown draws on the ‘80s nostalgia that’s defined seminal Hahmo records like ‘Cocktail Bar.’

It’s the combination of cleverly executed ideas and studio polish that gives ‘Tomorrow’ its edge. Initially a musical concoction from Audioventura that he’d written in the hope of releasing on Hahmo Recordings, his label boss saw the potential for something even more special after an early listen, inspiring the studio collaboration that led to the level of sonic polish that can be heard in the final product.

Number twenty on San Francisco’s Manjumasi is the second solo artist EP from label co-founder atish. With the Warbler EP, atish presents a pair of original tracks that showcase strange and unique melodic stylings across two distinct energy levels, both featuring eerie and compelling string sounds with heavy use of creative effects. The title track, Warbler, has a solid late-night dance floor groove with a lush and haunting synth line anchoring the mid-range groove. Abyss takes things deeper, again veering into eerie sonic territories with vocal pads floating throughout the mix. This one sits in a more restrained rhythmic territory, well suited to the mood-setting opening hours.

The package features three top-notch remixes from a collection of very serious producers. Sweden’s Dorisburg turns in an incredibly heady interpretation of Abyss, with sparkling glassy pads juxtaposed against a bouncing synth bassline. Melodic master Rodriguez Jr. takes Warbler in a different direction, weaving the original elements into a tapestry of his signature arpeggios and synth crescendos. Lastly, Fort Romeau turns in an energetic Warbler mix, anchored by a long-building stabby bassline that develops into a real acid-tinged driver.
