Smalltown DJs understand the physics of party music better than almost anyone on the planet. (What else would you expect from two selectors who actually built their own nightclub?) Their energetic, inventive sets have taken the duo around the globe, and their original productions are spun by the likes of A-Trak, Diplo, Annie Mac and more. Yet even veterans are able to surprise, and Smalltown's latest, "See Thru," is a true revelation of a tune. This hybrid jam, built around the soulful vocals of Lisa Lobsinger (Broken Social Scene), manages to feel equally at home slamming a club's main floor or anchoring an after party playlist. Is it nu-disco? Moombahton? EDM indie rock? (And where do the bugged out remixes from Thugli and Astronomar & Wuki fit?) All we know is that you won't hear songs like these anywhere else, making them perfect additions to the Fool's Gold Clubhouse.
