2013 saw Silicone Soul celebrating the 10th Anniversary of their Darkroom Dubs imprint. Launched in Glasgow back in 2003, the DRD stamp has become a mark of quality and seen many established names exploring deeper realms whilst also unearthing fresh and exciting global talent. 

From Fabric to Watergate, The Standard Rooftop to Club Bahrein Buenos Aires, the Scottish duo have celebrated their disco-decade with a string of '10 Year' parties spread across the last 12 months, building on Darkroom Dubs already strong global reach. 

To round off their birthday in style Craig and Graeme have asked some of the label's main acts and strongest supporters to contribute a track for a new compilation. Artists including jozif, Ryan Crosson, Uner, Gary Beck, Of Norway and Simon Garcia all feature in the collection that Silicone Soul present as a snapshot of the future sound and musical vision of Darkroom Dubs. 

Due for release Feb 24th 2014 on double 12" vinyl and download.

Lost Records have called upon newcomer PAWSA to showcase his talents on the label’s third release.

The title track “Pilot” delivers a dose of straight up jacking grooves with infectious old school drums, precise hi-hats and growling basslines. “Pilot” introduces PAWSA’s slick productions setting the stage perfectly for the second track on the EP “The Narcissist”.

Built on similar foundations to “Pilot”, “The Narcissist” kicks off with a more stripped back soundscape, playing, sinister vocals against a low slung bass line. 
The final track of the EP “Pretty Good Debbie” is a more laid back affair the swinging hi-hats pushing the track through to a mean build up and drop.

To round off the EP the icing on the cake is a remix of “Pretty Good Debbie” from Italian legends Supernova. After a blistering 2013, Supernova bring their dark & dubby twist to the table, with key features of the original in tact cementing them into a heavier groove whilst playing off atmospheric build ups and break downs.

Argentinean Mike Griego is next up on Sudbeat, and we start off with the first of two slammin Originals with ‘The Fourth Dimension’ that conjures images of sci-fi and time travel, and this would be the perfect soundtrack as this techno winner undulates from its cool groove to a pad laden wash of colour via a mysterious tinkle of melody adding an enigmatic puzzle, before a tough slab of wonky bass thrust this gem onwards before more peaks and troughs really tease you.

Originally released on the Supernova Best Of 10 Years Compilation late December 2013, we asked to a some of our fav producers to remix R.L.H (Respect, Love, Humanity) featuring the magic vocals of nothing less then Ann Saunderson (Inner City). That's how this 
tune has been reworked by the likes of Shur I Kan, Laftwing & Kody and Jay West.

We proudly welcome NYC&#8217;s Boris to Evolution as he has graced us with one of his finest tracks to date in the form of &#8220;You&#8221;. Warped female vocals are the show-stopper here, the rocksteady rhythm section chugs away effortlessly and huge washes add to the tense vibe. In the distance, haunting synths race against time and intertwine with chaotic reverberations. Paride Saraceni opts for a dubbier approach and employs his rubber-band bass and skipping drums. Looking to his effects box for the extra magic, he creates the trademarked cavernous atmosphere that he is known for.

We have to welcome for the very first time to Harry Romero. The american producer has teamed up with another well known house legend coming also from the USA, Joeski. &#8220;Choose One&#8221; is a colourful track with a phat groove that reminds us to the old chicago house beats, while &#8220;When You Touch Me&#8221; is an old school cut directly linked to the acid movement. It&#8217;s great to have these two house legends together in Suara showing us how music was produced 20 years ago. If this is not enough, we have a techno legend as Christian Smith showing us how to reconvert an old-school track into a much more actual sounding cut. "At first there was a remix:
For the first part of our Split Series „Hamburg“ the Hamburg based Band Me Succeeds made a remake of Arp Auberts „Actress“. In Return Arp Aubert, consisting of Mirau Label founder Stephan Lorenz, made a beautiful, dreamy remix for Me Succeeds „Riemerling“. Now the remixing goes on in full album length: After their latest long player „Rongorongo“ from 2011, which Me Succeeds released on their own imprint isawmusic, the band will return on Ki Records with a remix album. Eleven friends were invited to put their hands on the album’s tracks and give their interpretation. Besides a whole lot of danceable tracks you will also find some broken beats and spherical electronica here, which makes this release fit in perfectly in the Ki catalogue. Under the motto „never change a running system“ of course Arp Aubert once again had his hands on one of the tracks, turning „Rongorongo“ into a driving techno track which is underlined by the emotional vocals of lead-singer Mohna and beautiful melodies making this remix perfect for the early hours on the dancefloor. The Berlin based producer and DJ Iron Curtis gives the original of “Seventeen” a dubby note that is definitely special as he uses many vintage synthesizers-sounds and broken pieces of the original vocals to make this remix one of the strongest on this album. The last remix on the album was done by Greek musician Chronik, who turns „Books“ into a hymn with twisted rhythm and broken beats. It’s the perfect ending reminding us a lot of the recently on Ki released „Saints“ by Monokle. Apart from that, a few more great producers such as Tilmann Tausendfreund, Showing Off The Bling Bling, Christian Löffler, On Stop Off, My First Trumpet, Bug Lover and Suburb contributed to this Rongosium."
