Since their formation in London in 1976, the members of Wire have maintained and advanced a musical project which treats the creative potential of a rock band as a fluid, amorphous medium. As removed from self-conscious intellectualism as they are from the inherent conservatism of much rock music, Wire employ their unique, endlessly restless and risk-taking creativity to question every aspect of songwriting, recording and performance. They delight and disturb in equal measure, troubleshooting the circuitry of perfect pop, or patrolling the limits of focused experimentalism. In terms of working together as Wire, the group's members disbanded in 1980, reformed in 1985, disbanded in 1992 and reformed for the second time in 2000. Such sabbaticals from their career as Wire have served to sharpen the group's edge and focus, updating the tactics with which they pursue this shared project.

Insect Ark will release their new album "RAW BLOOD SINGING" June 7, 2024 on Debemur Morti Productions.

Since 2011, INSECT ARK’s music has evoked visions of dripping and lurching horror films, outer space travel, and gritty noir textures, using delay-drenched lap steel guitar, distorted bass & synths, and acoustic and electronic drums, creating a sonic mural both uncomfortably intimate and icy cold. Currently on their 10th release, Insect Ark is raw, ominous, desolate, and totally unique, transporting listeners willing to surrender to sonic oblivion, and stretching towards the outer realms of the avant-metal, psych doom, experimental and heavy-music worlds.

Hailing from the USA, INSECT ARK is the brainchild of bassist/multi-instrumentalist/composer Dana Schechter. The band operated as her one-woman solo writing and performance project from 2011-2015, later expanding into a duo with the addition of live drums (Ashley Spungin, 2015-2019) and Andy Patterson (2019-2021). 

In January 2022, drummer Tim Wyskida (Khanate, Blind Idiot God, Azonic) joined, and the band is now officially based in Berlin, Germany.

Founded in 1989 by Alan Herrick and Jenny Liang, Auricular Records began as a humble little record retail store in the Lower Haight neighborhood of San Francisco and has  been releasing ambient, soundart and difficult music as a label for over two decades.

Ipecac Recordings is the brainchild of Greg Werckman (former label manager for the legendary punk label, Alternative Tentacles, employee for Mercury Records for a record 15 minutes, currently operating Pick-A-Winner Management) and Mike Patton (former frontman for Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, currently of Fantômas, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom).

Werckman and Patton had been scheming for years (in between video games) about starting their very own label, waiting for just the right moment to unleash their master plan. Ipecac Recordings is not about to make music biz history and execute a revolution (although one is surely needed) or bore you by waxing poetic about their original musical philosophies. But if we have to adhere to a "mission statement," how about the notion of being an honest, artist friendly label run on a shoe string with no outrageous promotional or production costs. This label is a home to Mike Patton's eclectic musical collaborations as well as a place where bands we admire have the freedom to release music they might not be able to, or want to, release on other labels.
