Impulsée par Murailles Music, la rencontre entre la folk hantée de Matt Elliott et les textures chimériques de VACΛRME promet de vous plonger dans une douce brume, avant de vous faire chavirer sous une pluie de cordes. En quinze ans et huit albums, le songwriter de Bristol a su imposer sa capacité à composer de véritables chansons-monde qui n’ont jamais peur de dépasser le cap des dix minutes. De son coté le trio à cordes n’a eu de cesse, depuis sa création en 2012, de se réinventer aussi bien en trio qu’au fil de diverses collaborations (Stranded Horse, Rone, Villeneuve & Morando).

Ici, parce qu’il est question de bien plus qu’un classique accompagnement, VACΛRME révélera l’essence d’un songwriting rare, sillonnant à travers les mélodies, au plus près d’elles et jusque dans le bois des instruments. Les murmures de Matt Elliott se loveront tendrement au creux des ouïes des violons et du violoncelle, au risque de voir en surgir ses plus profonds hurlements.

Welcome to the first chapter of the OZFERTI saga. Step into an unknown galaxy, where gravity is multi-dimensional and they don’t have Netflix ; where new gods are replacing the old idols and the ecosystems are being crushed by space-mining economy. Follow OZFERTI, the masked beatmaker, in his journey to the stars, in an album inspired by East-African music and partly produced and recorded in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. The 11 track album takes you through desertic landscapes and sci-fi atmospheres, with traditionnal rythm patterns and percussions being mixed with electronic synthesisers and live electric guitar.

Florian Doucet is a music veteran. Before dedicating to Ozferti entirely, he toured around the globe and in the studio with Afro-Colombian band LA CHIVA GANTIVA (Crammed Discs) and Afro-Portuguese band TERRAKOTA (Fazuma). He had a call for modern Ethiopian music, and in 2016 released the ADDIS ABOUMBAP EP, 11 tracksof EthioJazz and electronic landscapes. The record received critical acclaim and was widely broadcasted by underground DJ’s and Radios (DJ Mellow / LOW UP, BEAT CHRONIC, Radio Nova Paris) but also on big stations (KCRW Los Angeles, Worldwide FM, RINSE fm France). This was the beginning of the Ozferti project, an adventure wich would encapsulate Flo’s musical and visual arts skills. The music contains elements of Electronica, Jazz, Hip-hop and Bass music, while using the color and richness of East-African instruments and rythms. It is a space odyssey, depicting the story of a purple planet and a masked musician, a strange place that makes us reflect on our own world.

🇧🇪 This is not a mix! This is a love set! It's a sharing of some records I've loved (and bought in two awesome shops in Brussels - Crevettes Records and Balades Sonores) over the past year. A music sharing. It presents exclusively Belgian-based artists - labels - productions. Almost 100% vinyl (two digital tracks provided by the artists themselves), electronic music mostly, 2020 edition mainly (a few from summer 2019). Obviously, it does not represent the diversity of musical production in Belgium. But, through a part of this local scene, I wanted (and I tried) to celebrate the wonderful cultural diversity of "my" country (three institutional communities, three official languages) and Brussels (which is, with 180 nationalities represented, one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world).
