Lookin Fly is a pumped up, fun, ravey bassline tune with a halftime hip-hop intro. Hungry Man is joined by long time musical collaborator Sam Ritchie of Sam and The Womp who adds trumpet melodies giving the track an extra twist. Remixes from Liverpool-based NEGO and Subwork label honcho Tenz based in Bath increase the speed into angular footwork / jungle / drum’n’bass directions.

Luminous written and produced by Hungry Man aka Hagop Heath-Matossian. Original sitar written and performed by Jonathan Mayer

Luminous began life as a Covid lockdown project. Hungry Man and Jonathan first met in 2007 when they performed together in 'Amorphous Androgynous: A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble'. This was the live project of Future Sound of London's Garry Cobain. This took them to Russia, The Ukraine

in 2019 Hungry Man sent Jonathan some beats to play over and Jonathan recorded his sitar parts and sent them back. Luminous is their first collaboration together.

Jonathan is a renowned sitar player and composer and co-founder of 'First Hand Records'. He has performed across the world and has performed several times for the BBC in the UK.

Terraforming is the 7th release on Hungry Man’s imprint Jump Music. It is a sonic rollercoaster that soundtracks a future when we will be able to shape and meld the earth into whatever forms we desire. Diggers and Bulldozers will be relics of the past when the laws of physics can be temporarily suspended with highly concentrated energy beams of yet to be discovered wavelengths. Humans will imagine and design their way out of climate emergency, restoring balance on Earth.

Hungry Man’s Rave Mix sits across several genres including Bassline, Bass House and UK Bass. It starts off with one of Hungry Man’s classic half-time intros drawing from Hiphop and Dubstep influences. Vocals are performed by Hungry Man. It then takes us into slamming dancefloor bassface territory 

Terraforming is taken in new directions by Jump Music’s stable of remixers. Minnesota / San Francisco based Riley Love gives us a house mix which is fun and bouncy. Riley’s distinctive sound is the result of a sample-based approach. She likes to twist and flip samples and loves using old gritty vocals with lots of vinyl distortion. 

Leeds based Thornton Force’s mix was created using a hardware drum machine and synth setup. It is an acid house banger that is also reminiscent of IDM, Braindance and Rephlex Records back in the early 2000’s. The sub booms are delectable.

Bobby Lasers aka Kid Chameleon is a very versatile producer hailing from Canada. His mix very creatively resamples several elements of the track to create a Drum’n’bass interpretation. He has a regular radio show on Sub FM, the same station that Hungry Man had a regular Dubstep show on back in 2007. Sub FM Family 4Eva.

Buy Now Pay Later was inspired by the current environmental crisis in which we continue to overstretch our finite resources at an alarming rate. By committing ecocide we are buying now and paying later when it will be too late to restore balance to life on Earth. 

The tune is a slice of bass-weight rinse out madness and embodies the critical mass of the Extinction Rebellion movement and how it captured the ethical hearts and minds of the UK and the World. Hungry Man has long been an environmental activist works in sustainable construction. He wanted to write music around this feeling without preaching or complaining.

He's delivered exclusive mixes for The British Council's Selector radio show and 3000 Bass and has collaborated with No.1 charting Sam & The Womp, Crystal Fighters, Aaron Horn, Shura and more.

McMafia is an instrumental synthy 146 bpm roller sitting between glitch-hop, dubstep and grime and has been crafted to get the crowd raving. It caught the imagination of the Bachelor’s circus students at Stockholm University of the Arts who choreographed the opening piece of their final show to it. This was live streamed during the 2021 lockdown and is the music video for the track.

McMafia sends a fist pump and a high five to every protestor and activist who sets out to disrupt society in order to raise awareness about the downtrodden. These people are risking their safety and livelihoods to protect what is being ravaged by corporations and often the state. The title was inspired by Misha Glenny's book on global mafia syndicates which includes governments. The vocal samples are Dissident Island's legal advice to protestors who are likely to be arrested in the course of their actions.
