Dear person listening,

Have you been through the fire? Feel broken? Feel like your faith and hope is being tested? Want to give up? Made mistakes you don't think you can ever come back from? Like Adam & Eve, we feel guilt and shame for our mistakes and when we talk about it, we feel exposed. Sometimes we feel like maybe we deserve our circumstances and accept that "it is what it is". 

In the beginning, God did not intend for us to feel these things. That is His character, remember that He always wants what's best for us but just because things don't go as planned, just because we mess up, doesn't mean it's over. God hasn't given up on you. God has an unlimited supply of love and mercy. No matter what you've done, I promise you, He loves you. I came to this realization as a cocaine addict and alcoholic who engaged in every self destructive behavior I could. I thought I was broken and could never be anything more than I was. I thought it was too late. BUT God loved me right where I was and was waiting for me. He Had a plan to redeem and restore my life. 

Even though Adam & Eve chose to defy God, in all His mercy and love for us, He had a plan to restore what had been broken. In Genesis 3:15 we get our first glimpse of God's plan, that plan would come in the flesh as Jesus, who would spill blood for our restoration. God is a God that redeems and restores. He picks up the pieces and makes us new. If you're feeling broken, let God restore you. When we try to put ourselves back together, we're still cracked versions of ourselves but God restores!
