Timing is everything… As the world seems to be spinning backwards, Bastian Bux sums up our shared sentiment of injustice with two diplomatic dancefloor demonstrations: ‘Protest’ and ‘Riot’.

The mysterious Elrow resident’s MOOD debut, wherever you are in the world, these two Bastian Bux tracks couldn’t have landed at a more poignant time. And while their titles resonate with meaning, their rolling techno sounds sooth with physical healing.

Instantly smacking of his now legendary Elrow sets where he weaves majestically between house and techno, both cuts are laden with a production warmth that will appeal to anyone on the house/tech axis.

‘Protest’ pounds with a robust kick and undulating 909 bass groove that peaks and troughs beneath a sinewy topline and trippy dubbed-out echoes. ‘Riot’ takes a more subversive tact with deeper low-end fluctuations as the subs wrap tightly around the kicks, big metallic percussive hits provide the melody and iced out pads ripple
through the mix with euphoria.

Both clocking in at over eight stately minutes. Both delivered with the perfect level of introspection and dynamic power and thundering big-system weight. Both highlighting the fact that we are not alone and can share and shed our frustrations where we have for decades: the dancefloor. These are the most peaceful protests and riots you’ll ever experience.

In the depths of the jungle lay a swampy marsh. Through the deep, between the long reeds lay a creature in hiding. It slithered through the murky waters waiting to prey upon the innocent boatsmen of the woodland. They would be the next to fall victim to its vicious tallons and its cold, hateful bite. The rain poured down upon the pond, ripples swept gracefully upon the surface of the water, if only they had known what awaited, through the deep, through the deep. 

The Fin are an ethereal pop band originating from Japan. This summer saw them release "Through The Deep": now a re-imagined EP sees the likes of The Field, Ten Fe and All We Are step up to remix the group.

Just last July Reboot dropped his delicious album ‘Alive’ on Get Physical Music featuring ‘Just Hang On’. The deep groove and satisfyingly dark ambience of the original caught the ear of Cologne based producer and DJ, Kölsch. He turns the original into a heavy late night affair, reminiscent of some of the classic techno of the past. Pure groove wrapped in a velvety pumping loop. The dub sticks a bit tighter to the dancefloor, with more emphasis on the rhythm and overall groove. Of course you’ll be able to pick up the original masterpiece while you’re at it, and if you haven’t heard it yet we can only recommend you get on it.

Fur Coat return to Crosstown Rebels - the label that launched and empowered them to grow into the major techno force we know today, with their ’Numbers EP, featuring a remix from US native Vin Sol. This is music that keeps you guessing. Initially it appears dark and forceful, and suddenly a sound appears that results in a smile, a warm feeling that only the highest level of production can deliver.

Fur Coat’s schedule is unrelenting. The last couple of months involving a standout set at DGTL Festival, releasing on Watergate Records, remixing Nicole Moudaber & Skin on Mood Records, combined with numerous festival appearances over the Summer. Resident of the popular night Club Lonely in San Francisco, Vin Sol, founded an imprint with the same title earlier this year. A self confessed lover of the drum machine and regularly collaborating with Matrixxman, Sol has previously released on Soo Wavey, Clone Jack for Daze and Delft among others.

Hotflush are proud to introduce an exciting young artist, PYUR, along with her singular debut LP Epoch Sinus. Despite her relative newness, PYUR meets the world with fully formed and unique signatures in both visual and sonic work, revealing a deep artistry that transcends medium.

Growing up in Munich, in and amongst the same fecund scene that spawned artists like the Zenker Brothers and Skee Mask, PYUR cut her teeth from a young age as a guitarist and singer before becoming spellbound by the electronic world’s endless scope for sound design. Endowed with innately strong synaesthesia and reared in a shamanic household, she tells how music “played the biggest role in my growth. It alone had the purpose to help me dissolve boundaries, discover the beauty of life’s mechanisms, create freely. It talked. Soon I felt like the music was making me, not the other way round.”

Epoch Sinus is a seamless and heartfelt whole, a life-like being unto itself, describing the disintegration of barriers between the self and the all. Here PYUR offers an intimate and personal statement, combining knowledge of universal harmony with electronic music. She states: “I'm mainly influenced by my inner visions and nature itself, yet also a lot from club culture, which is undoubtedly an important space of connection and freedom for so many people”. The record dances playfully between supposedly incompatible qualities: moments of brutality turn to softness, new life embraces decomposition, while explosive rhythmic and melodic structures are tempered with gentle and subtle percussion.

The album is accompanied by a video piece for each track, translating the sonic messages into a visual body. Her goal was to show as accurately as possible what she felt during the making process of Epoch Sinus, to put the music into context and make it more accessible for the public. Light, water, reflections and colors of nature all feature strongly in these distinctive visions.

“Music showed me that, in the sweet spot between nothingness and existence, one is empowered to fully understand energetic connections and able to initiate extraordinary transformations through all grids and layers of self. Especially now at this time music has the enormous potential and responsibility to become a transformative entity, providing truthfulness and support.”

A lifelong fan of electronic music, Hyperbolic Function began playing  instruments at the age of 13 and started DJing at 16. After moving to London in 2009, he immersed himself in the underground scene, which deeply influenced his sound and his dedication to the genre led him to found and manage the successful techno blog, The Techno Kittens.

Based in London, Hyperbolic Function has performed at iconic venues such as Electric Brixton and The Shelter. He also hosted Melodic Electronic on Music Box Radio, where his dynamic DJ sets and finely tuned productions found a dedicated audience.

His music is known for its progressive and melodic sound, characterised by a euphoric yet melancholic rave edge, enriched with intricate melodic layers. His debut EP, Ascending, released through Reckoning Records, soared the progressive house charts taking the #1 releases spot and peaking at #7 & #11 in the Hype and Top 100 charts.  

Currently, he is working on new music including a new EP, remixes, and preparing for upcoming DJ gigs.
