While the darkness conveyed in her DJ sets and productions is usually ever-present, Leese's track ‘Howl’ touches a quieter, more emotional register. It is the perfect opener to Constrict Music's upcoming Unfolding vol. 1 LP, setting a slow pace, a calm tone and keeping the listener’s curiosity alive for seven minutes which is a refreshing take on today’s often short and attention-grabbing music.

Alex Dorn aka Credit 00 takes a sidestep from his Uncanny Valley/Rat Life camp to showcase his rumbling, industrial machine funk and bad-ass attitude on Pinkman. Vision gets blurry and panic sets in as the A-Side track "Exctasy Overdose" blasts with vibrating basslines and shrieking sirens. On the flip we have the stripped slowbeat electro cut "Data Control", showing a huge middle finger to online mass surveillance. The EP ends with the weirdo jam "Weg von diesem Ort" in which Alex samples synth and covers vocals of an obscure, industrial cassette tape from the early 80s."

A venture into dancefloor territory under a heavy breakbeat / drum & bass influence. This could be the soundtrack of a Wipeout 2097 video game, a sci-fi chase scene, it rumbles, it crawls, it groans and explodes while providing Apollo Noir's peculiar melodic style.
A new facet of the french producer, slowly unveiling the shades of his upcoming « Chaos ID » album.

BIOGRAPHY

After growing up in the middle of the deepest French countryside (one would say in the middle of nowhere), a place called « The Black Woods » in Auvergne, Apollo Noir got into music playing drums in various Hardcore Punk and Grind bands. Hardcore is always a good way of starting music, a bit like going to the conservatory for classical musicians. During all these years being a drummer, Apollo Noir listened to a lot of music, learning, digesting, forging a solid knowledge of indie music that will help him define his future sound.
Eventually he came across a drum machine/ sequencer / synth made by Roland in the 90s called the MC909. A cheap machine used in a lot of Trance productions at that time. That was his entry point to making electronic music and how he started collecting synths obsessively.
Almost an adult, he’s ready to start his own solo project that he will call Apollo Noir as a nod to his childhood ‘Black Woods’.
His first album ‘A/N’ almost naturally comes to the ears of Tigersushi, the kind of music we love here, ambitious, emotional, challenging, genre-defying. For him this is a distortion of reality, where music and spirituality become one. Apollo’s music combines rawness, brutalism, minimalism and perfectionism in a very unique way. A few transformed voices haunt the record like a ghostly mass. There’s elements of Vangelis epic synths, Oneohtrix Point Never’s futuristic free forms or Sonic Youth dissonant noise, all made mostly from rearranged live takes recorded with a whole analog synth and drum machines set up. And yet it doesn’t sound vintage at all.
This is a trip to a distant planet, both familiar and strange, a psychedelic and distorted utopia.

Disco Morato and Gegen Mann are Moscow based DJs and sound producers. By playing their music they try to touch the darkest aspects of human emotion expressing an atmosphere of body-control. Apart from DJing they produce music and signed to UK-based NEIN Records. And as a collaboration, they founded imprint “MAXIMA CULPA RECORDS” to develop their specific sound and vision of music. This release is also the result of their collaboration.

There are 10 tracks created with total freedom to experiment with sound.

This compilation of 90 tracks was put together to support the feminist movement in the autonomous area of Northern Syria. All proceeds from the digital sales will be sent directly to the ‘Foundation of the Free Woman in Rojava‘ (Weqfa Jina Azad A Rojava) which is one of the last women’s organization in the area.

This is a call for maintaining the international solidarity with the revolution in Rojava. It is a musical interference against the imperialist war machinery, against capitalism. It is campaigning to raise awareness about the struggle of the Kurdish freedom movement.
Because the war against equality and freedom is a war against all of us.

BL Premiere: BLACK SEED - 9'38'' [Kashev Tapes]

With hardly any time to react and assimilate the latest released by Soil Records, the platform captained by SOJ presents again a new EP in vinyl format. It continues with its second anniversary campaign in the best way that a record label can do it, showing its great potential with great releases and with a rhythm difficult to assume for most similar projects, since this same month of June it has published the second anniversary album, the Filmmaker's EP and, recently it has announced a Namesis release and a second volume of Valley Of Tears for next July. This series of releases is quite recent, it was released last April and so far, what it shows us is that it is how the label calls the releases of several artists published on vinyl.

Soil Records counts again with Years of Denial, the previous time they were one of the 4 projects that remixed one of the four tracks of Body Shaper, but this time, Jerome Tcherneyan and Barkosina Hanusova debut with a track of their own. Girl With Broken Head opens this EP with an intense sound of dominant low frequencies and with the characteristic voice of Barkosina. Metallo is the second track on the A side, St Theodore brings more dynamics to this release with a techno where the harmonic part takes the continuous form of arpeggio. Djedjotronic closes this first side with NOD, contemporary EBM that intersperses close-ups between the bass line and the melody of the pad.

Velvet May opens the B-side with Lips Of Lusting Fury, a track with an invariable melodic pattern in terms of tonality but, rich in nuances with its constant modulations, to which we must also add voices from beyond the grave and more synthetic resources. SOJ himself closes the EP with Fleshing Out, a great track with a penetrating sound and with a great collaboration of HIV+, who is in charge of providing an apocalyptic touch with his voice.
