It had been a long time since the city had clamped down on nightlife activities; clubs had to shut their doors early and licenses were harder and harder to come by, but that just forced everything underground. Below the concrete, at night the city came alive with the throbbing pulse of sound systems and the frenetic colours of bright light. Those that wanted to be part of it would seek it out - escapism in this form would never truly disappear. After all, everybody knows that rules are there to be broken.

Once again, Berlin's Warning come correct with an EP from a new name on the block, JCow. Following split and collaborative EPs from the likes of DJ Swagger and LUZ1E and Giraffi Dog and Henry 3000, the label now let JCow take centre stage with a solo release that marks his first ever record. In true Warning style the four tracks offer up a palate of anthemic rave flavours, touching on elements of trance, breaks, acid and electro.

1 year after releasing his 5th long-play “True, Necessary, Kind” Alexander Lay-Far prepared a conceptual follow-up - a compilation of remixes and reinterpretations from young underground heroes and new exciting talents.

Pursuing the original album’s concept and philosophical message, in the autumn of 2023 Lay-Far announced an open remix competition to share the inspiration spark, ignite the intercultural dialogue and officially release the top 3 reworks as a result. However it didn’t go according to the plan! Submissions poured in from Germany, Spain, The UK, USA, Russia, Ireland, Indonesia, South Africa, etc., exceeding the expectations of quantity and most importantly quality! Growing up in Milton Keynes, the largest of the "new towns" outside of London designed and built in the 1960s, perhaps explains why producer Nicholas Worrall is subconsciously drawn to clearly delineated sonic structures and flawed techno utopianism, two concepts that are ever present in both his sound and aesthetic approach to music.

Wordcolour (@wordcolour) was formed just two years ago, at a time when Worrall was habitually cutting up and splicing human voice samples ripped from YouTube memes, film dialogues and musique concrète tapes.

The first artistic demonstration of these ideas arrived in 2019 via his mixtape “I Want To Tell You Something” for the Blowing Up The Workshop platform. This unique set immediately grabbed the attention and support of the specialized music press and media, including Pitchfork and Resident Advisor.

“Tell Me Something” is Wordcolour’s official debut EP and heads straight for the dance floor. It is comprised of an unusual melting pot of influences that fuse the UK club sound, post-dubstep and a style akin to Paul Lansky's ‘90s musique concrète. “Tell Me Something” offers a vibrant leftfield, avant-garde techno and edgy electro, all immersed in the vast cosmos of the human voice.

The night was cold and dark as he skipped through an electronic maze of obscure shapes and patterns. This was his journey into digital sleep, a realm in which all things were unseen and built solely from pixels and flickering electronics. The world around him was not physical but virtual and as he dreamt in the darkness he began to shake and shuffle beneath the strain of the bright flashing lights which illuminated this fantasy world. Where was he? How had he got here? 

UNPOSED is a record label based in Germany, run by MSJY the imprint releases futuristic, experimental, electronic music with post modern tendencies. They have just announced a new compilation in aid of those under threat by the Yemen food crisis with all profits being donated. This track from the release is by Paz Shina.
