Hailing from the southern part of the Netherlands, this Den Bosch-based UK aficionado serves up a handful of quality DJ tools in the higher BPMs. The EP kicks off with "Nano," where distorted vocals intertwine seamlessly with a steady broken groove. "Enter The Blade" follows suit, where acid baselines elegantly interplay with pulsating rave stabs. „Floor Crawl“ is sure one to test every clubs subs with it’s deep bass sweeps, while Hyper Continuum weaves a tapestry of never-ending suspense, complemented by expansive synths and swooping sirens.
To cap it off, Siu Mata contributes a killer remix of the title track, transforming its original elements into a high-speed dembow trip.

In the frosty embrace of Berlin's winter, French Berlin DJ and Refuge Worldwide radio host, ophélie, unfurls their debut release on hundert records. We are happy to present “Electric Blue Gecko” as the single from the record. 



Following their inaugural release on the leftfield club music label "Early Reflex," they carefully craft mesmerizing, yet meditative bass music tracks. Ophélie presents her own version of the sonic vision that they explore in their monthly radio show "Therapy Dog". Influences of drum and bass meet the minimalist razor-sharp yet spacious sounds.

   

The artwork was created by Sena Oh who developed the visual style in close collaboration with ophélie. The digital fauna is presented visually through the unmistakable artistic style of the Korean Berlin artist. Bait's first various EP format release 'Baby Steps' is an exploration of steppers: pounding four to the floor kicks, organic percs and an overall 'elephant march' feel. Featuring tracks by five French producers, Strasbourg-based Orchid (half of or+be with Bait founder Beatrice M.), Bruxelles-based Moriiiis J., most-known for his broken-beat project Kuna Maze, as well as Quasar, whose name is well established in the dubstep world with releases on legendary UK labels such as Artikal and Deep Medi to name a couple. Agôn (Few Tips/Trajectoire) & Céline B. (Technorama)'s collaboration opens a door towards the more abstract and contemplative side of bass music with influences such as Shackleton, perfectly closing 'Baby Steps' VEP.

Amsterdam-based DJ, producer and biologist Teqmun is next up on Nerve Collect with Worms Still Have To Eat The Dirt, a six-track EP of blistering fusion sounds that come with remixes from Ma Sha and TSVI.

Tijmen Blokzijl's work is an involving eco-system of electronic collisions - IDM, breakbeat techno and bass are in constant mutation as he layers in deft melodies, cooks up punchy rhythms and screws about with synths. He has done so on the likes of Sann Odea, Traumgarten, Flippen Disks and on self-released EPs that have all constantly pushed at the fringes of sound design. Now he brings all that together again across four electrifying tracks for Gamma Intel and Identified Patient's Nerve Collect.

This EP finds Teqmun departing from the cute and colourful elements of previous releases and becoming inspired by the harsher phenomena in nature, such as a high speed escape of hopping desert rodents called Jerboa, deadly sea slugs and fluffy Echinopsis cactus. I am often inspired by nature and its images and quickly get real sounds or feelings of atmosphere in my head when I see images of natural processes. In this case, it’s grimmer natural processes that inspired me which is why these tracks are much wilder than previous releases, therefore they fit in perfectly with Nerve Collect.

'Hand Full of Fluff' kicks off with a playful rhythm and churning bass that is brought to life with prickly percussion. Shards of melody and scattered hits are fired like ray guns across the track. The EP title track is an impossibly kinetic rhythm with fizzing textures and thudding kick patterns that sound like techno made purely by malfunctioning AI. That same sense of futurism pervades ‘A Jerboa's Escape' which has tightly coiled and broken-up drum patterns looping below eerie, unsettling pads that glow brightly in the percussive chaos. 'Corn Has Ears' is another physical club rhythm made from millions of tiny fragments that all coalesce around a harrowing bassline and 'Slug No Escargot' brings dystopian raps to static-laced bass and harder drum patterns. Last of all is the bouncy and buoyant 'Optimistic' with its post-trap vocals and thrilling club rhythms.

First to remix is New York innovator Ma Sha. She flips 'Slug No Escargot' into a percussive workout with writhing bass and cyborg vocal shards that soundtrack an intergalactic meltdown. Next comes London-based Italian TSVI. His take on 'Optimistic Fly' is big, elastic techno with decaying synth leads and zippy pads pulling you in several directions at once.

Teqmun's Worms Still Have To Eat The Dirt EP manages to sound completely out of this world while also connecting on a deeply emotional level.

C Powers operates out of a terminal running P Klang G13 creator engine on 69xo, blasting her block-rocking pig-smashing beats straight to mp3 and often in one or less takes, live direct out of Portland but globally present and cybernetically ubiquitous. CH Rom is headquartered in NYC and performs content creation with a refurbished organic matcha-truffle hybrid 96kbps system, playing upwards of 4200 notes a day.

Together they are Pump Media Unlimited, widely celebrated in the bass drum scene and known for blistering tempos reaching as high as 420, even 1213 BPM. The Pumps are at once profoundly in touch with the ancient history of bass, and yet notably 65 million years ahead of their time.

Each of their records is as much a statement as an adventure, and “Chessy!” (Itals, not quotes) is no exception. There’s something for everyone here—like crunchy vapor bass? Prefer your zipzaps with 128th note triplet hihats? Dig synth, but only vegan? Hate cops and the whole global imperial terrorstate crypto death cult? You’re listening to the right music.
