Abhörautomat emerges like an electronic signal refracted through the ionosphere, a pulse drifting between silence and propulsion. Its foundation lies in a taut, minimal kick, dry yet resonant. Paired with a bassline that breathes in syncopated waves, subtly ducking beneath spectral textures.

Across the stereo field, pads bloom like distant auroras, their harmonic shimmer bending into acid-laced motifs that flicker with crystalline precision. Percussive fragments interlock with surgical clarity, each transient sharpened to cut through the haze, while the tonal balance leans into sculpted mids and radiant highs, recalling the hypnotic lineage of downbeat heritage with a distinctly modern polish.

Designed for nocturnal immersion, Abhörautomat oscillates between propulsion and suspension, inviting the listener into a liminal space where rhythm becomes architecture. Saturation binds the elements into a cohesive fabric, yet the mix breathes with dynamic restraint, allowing each layer to reveal its orbit.

This piece stands as another chapter in Boris Stoersender’s evolving sonic identity. Precise, atmospheric, and unmistakably his: a fusion of technical mastery and poetic resonance, crafted for both the dance floor and the introspective drift.

That being said his latest offering is an unrelenting broken beat gem that bridges progressive breaks, acid house with ethereal elements. So, strap in, and enjoy.

PREMIERE: Armless Kid - Untitled [Nuances de Nuit]

Following his solo 12" debut in November on AC Records, Armec returns with a 4-track EP on Echocentric Records.

The music on offer is rich and emotional - enter microworlds of subtle melodies, pads and sci-fi drones that ooze both melancholy and hope, and will appeal to anyone into electro, IDM and techno.

A-side is a nod to Robbie's IDM roots. Just check the expansive soaring synth-work on "Auden" and the analogue moods of "Conceptualise". The droney, murky & dystopian sci-fi soundscapes of side B offer another view into Armec's production work.

The patterns weaved and meandered before his very eyes, they were hypnotic and cast a spell upon his train of thought and vision. Conceptually they were stunning but beneath the glow of his frazzled mind and the substances which danced a merry jig amidst his chemicals he was lost in a maze of wandering lines and blurry dots. It was going to be a long night as he marched between rooms whilst the drums rumbled and banged in his ears, he cast a glimpse outwards onto the floor and began to move. 

Armec is set to release a new EP on Echocentric Records, an EP which is provocative and thoughtful. It channels elements of space and IDM, with agile sound design and intricate angular electronics.
