Cawd Slaydaz is a clear shift for Frigio Records. Yet, this debutant also marks a return of sorts. The album brings together Max Abysmal and Hugo van Heijningen. Max is active as DJ and producer with releases on Safe Trip, Kalahari Oyster Cult & Dekmantel. Hugo is a musician with a history of projects & aliases like Red Light Radio (co-founder), Hugo de Naranja, DJ Soulseek, White Slice, Firestone, Malkovich and Stallion’s Stud with releases on labels such as Pinkman, Artificial Dance, Recreo, Suburban & Müstesna Records. The link that connects the two? Their love for Colombia and the rich musical melting pot of this diverse nation. Nothing is stable on this eleven track LP, recorded in Bogotá Colombia with 10 different local guest artists.

Rhythms are cross pollinated, cold and stark city thump collides with rich and lively organic flows. The style pursued is anything but singular, like the messages. Social exclusion and brutality in the poetic Perreo “Dejen Bailar” is mirrored in the Cumbia food ode “Potato Trip”. Dark Electronics, Experimental Bass & Trap are the genre tags that most will attempt to label this record with. This ignores the Leftfield Funk of “El Gorila Del Desierto”, the Stoner Ambient of “Uffff” or the Synth-Punk rage of “Razones”. An audio snapshot of a country: TOTÁL.

Descend into the vast underwater world of Melbourne/Naarm producer LOIF(@loiflan).  LOIF's imagination of the mysterious world beneath the shores needs not words to describe it, but your ears to envision it.

'Plunge' presents four tracks of varying liquid moods which illustrate LOIF's versatility and tendency to hop between genres and moods. Boris Bunnik is a prolific producer based in The Netherlands who has consistently created incredible electronic music across multiple styles as Versalife, Conforce, Severnaya and Vernon Felicity building a wide fan base and widely regarded as a master of the trade with records produced for highly respected labels including Rush Hour, Delsin, Frustrated Funk, Clone and Further Electronic. Following the magnificence of his debut album ‘Manifold’ on 20/20 Vision he now returns with his second full length album ‘Chronoception’.

Chronception sees Bunnik expand from rigid electro beats (Polyshron) into more freeform excursions featuring liquid breakbeats layered with rasping synths (Perceptual Time Dilation), futuristic soundscapes (Altered Sense), intricately woven random sequences featuring tight drum programming (Oculus). Bunnik always manages to elicit emotions from the machines with an extraordinary amount of feeling poured into the circuits until each song tells a story from the melancholy of Equilibrium to the future worlds of Clairvoyance.

Boris Bunnik has stood silently in the shadows for many years making a myriad of beats that have rocked the most discerning global dance-floors, Chronoception heralds his remarkable talent and cements his place as a master craftsman.
