The Cybordelics classic "Adventures of Dama" has never lost its popularity since it´s first released in 1993. The original track on the Harthouse label landed at number 2 at the British club charts. After numerous live performances, Mike S., Milan Zemanec and Daniel Varga split up in 1994 and dissolved Cybordelics. But “Adventures of Dama” was kept alive for almost three decades by many well-known artists, remixed or reinterpreted.
Harthouse revived this tradition in 2019 with four further remixes (which were also released on vinyl). Another round of “Adventures of Dama” will be heralded at the end of 2021: The new Remix EP starts with a rework version by George, who pulls out all the stops and discovers completely new facets in “Adventures of Dama”. The second remix by Cie works out the essence of the classic and steams the track down to its essence. The third track by Mar Io moves back a gear and negotiates “Adventures of Dama” in a dreamlike landscape. The Remix EP closes with a Philipp Gabel Remix, which above all refines and celebrates the rhythmic quality of the original.
On 2023 the classic track has become a real treat especially with the sensational club remix of Adventures of Dama (Cybordelics) by Noxious Element.

PREMIERE: Elias Erium - Echoes (Original Mix) [Phenomena]

‘Dubbed Out’ EP out November 2014 (VINYL ONLY)

This October will see the return of England’s Luna Records with the ‘Dubbed Out’ EP, a three- track package featuring material from Alexkid, Rogelio and James Hutchison.

The Luna Records imprint was launched in 2009 out of Northern England, and over it’s five years has consistently released striking material, welcoming the likes of Chris Lattner, DJ W!ld, So Inagawa and Matthias Tanzamann onto the imprint. The label’s focus has been split between all original material from exciting new acts, as well as established producers alike, here we see the label push on with three new additions to the roster, welcoming Ovum / Rekids artist Alexkid, and two up and comers, namely Rogelio and James Hutchison.

Opening the release is Alexkid’s ‘Syndicate Dub’, seeing the Parisian artist offer up a bumpy low-slung cut fuelled by crunchy stripped-back drums and penetrating sub hits, laid out over six minutes with subtle nuances to the groove hidden in the depths of the composition.

Following is Rogelio’s ‘Mutombo’, picking up the energy levels slightly with mind-bending synth textures, rumbling low-end tones and murmuring vocal licks, while the jangling percussive sounds and weighty kicks keen things evolving over throughout.

James Hutchison then rounds off the package with ‘Soiree’, tipping the focus over towards organic rhythmic elements to lay the foundations, whilst menacing dub stabs and sweeping atmposherics smoothly unfold as the record progresses.

Luna returns with yet another brilliant club focused EP here, the ‘Dubbed Out’ Various Artists release is out on Luna Records 29th October 2014.

Get Physical's last delivery for 2014 is, yet again, an EP that strays a bit off the beaten track. For this last installment, GPM290, Junge Junge has called upon Australian native Kyle Pearce to set some velvety vocals to a toned-down, bittersweet delight of a track. 

The ‚Beautiful Girl‘ EP opens with its namesake creation, a thumb piano-laden tune decorated by some seriously smoky singing just waiting to transport you far away. It's followed by a handful of distinct reworkings, by the likes of Tube & Berger who plunge the track underwater and turn it into warm-up material, while Audiofly takes on a dub remix and spins the song on its head to give it a new psychedelic identity. Meanwhile, Blond:ish throws it into darker terrain only to have the ‚Beautiful Girl‘ lifted up by Junge Junge once again thanks to a slightly different version that turns it into danceable AM epic by way of some wisely-placed kicks and claps. The EP ends on this sweetest of high notes, putting a neat, shiny bow on this, the last of Get Physical's gifts to you before the year is out.

Alan Fitzpatrick has started something with his imprint We Are The Brave – the selection of artists who have released on the label in the last 2 years shows his dedication to giving a home to the best underground music around for his loyal and dedicated fans. Club anthems come to mind, with tracks like Alan’s ‘We Do What We Want’, Gary Becks ‘Just One More’ and the recent smash hit ‘Poison’ from UK legend Skream. 

We’ve had some cracking new releases from brand new artists, showcasing some of the best of the emerging talent out there. But for now, we welcome one of Scotland finest producers, and one of Alan’s long-time mates – Harvey McKay.

“We both started out around the same time and I've always been drawn to his style of driving, soulful techno. I signed his three-track McGurk Effect EP to my 8 Sided Dice label back in 2011, so it was exciting to get sent some new music and I fell in love with all three tracks after just one weekend of testing them out." – says Alan

The title track ‘Set Back’ has that old Detroit sound, but modernized with a tough edge. Vocal samples stab through the jacking synth hook and its explosive kick drum ensure some serious fist pumping action required. 

“Balter somehow reminds me of that Love Parade vibe from the 90’s” – says Harvey. Its rolling low end and vocal manipulation sit alongside drum rolls which build a heady groove. “It’s not like it sounds like a 90s track, but it certainly has the spirit of those times” – adds Harvey.

“Hahaha Rush is just a track that's come from hanging out with Gary Beck all the time!”. Its stripped back with a driving percussion power, and maybe the moodiest of the EP with a lot of texture and attitude.

“Alan and I have known each other from the very start, he’s a sound geez and always got his ear on the pulse – it’s so nice to be working together on this release.” – Harvey.

Having long been supported by Alan Fitzpatrick as well as performing at WATB tour events worldwide, we are delighted to have him make his debut on Respekt.

Thorium is a peak-time powerhouse with big, octaved synths and dissonant sequences and has been a regular appearance in Spektre's livestreams during lockdown.
Continuing the isotopic theme, but emitting a slightly deeper form of radiation is Barium; Less flashy than the A-side, but a super useful set building track. 
You won't need a geiger counter to detect these two once we're back in the clubs!
