This idea was quite a well received concept and even helped gain me a Resident Advisor Podcast. You can hear the strains of the last track (Scuba - Adrenalin) in the opening of this new part because it was the last track on the previous mix.

James Zabiela Paradigm Shift Pt 3

This is my DJ mix from the Daphni 'JIAOLONG' album release party at the Bussey Building in Peckham, London, UK.

It was recorded live and performed with 3 Pioneer CDJ 2000s playing digital files, an E&S DJR400 mixer and a Boss RE-20 Space Echo pedal.

All 7.5 hours are here - warts and all. Apologies for the occasionally crunchy sound quality and periodic lapses in mixing. It's only split into two parts because it was too long to upload as one file.

It was a fantastic night - thank you to all of you who were there and to Huntleys & Palmers for putting the night on. But as many of you were unable to attend for geographic and other reasons, I wanted to share it with you this way.

The National are a Brooklyn-based five-piece hailing from Ohio. The group contains two pairs of brothers -- Bryce Dessner (guitars), Aaron Dessner (bass, guitars), Scott Devendorf (bass, guitars), and Bryan Devendorf (drums) -- and features Matt Berninger on vocals. The National's music has drawn comparisons to Interpol, the Smiths, Tindersticks, and Tom Waits -- the latter due to Berninger's shattered, beautiful earthquake of a voice, which recalls the holy trinity of Cave, Cash and Cohen. However, though concerned with the forensics of heartbreak specifically and the human condition generally, the band are no mere copycats.

i-DJ: Le Youth - Missed Calls

On the brink of releasing his first album, Irish DJ turned producer Ryan Vail drops a slow-building, atmospheric Slumber mix  exclusively for i-D.

"It's no exaggeration to say that I've experimenting with music half of my life. Since the age of 13 I've been fascinated by creating unique sounds, and actually cut my teeth as a turntablist at 16. When I started to put this mix together, it was important for me to capture both my influences and inspirations. The tracks I've selected are all by artists that I admire and respect  a great deal, so I really wanted to be able to include them and place my own slant on proceedings. My production is very analogue, so I made the mix using vinyl on 1210's and a reel to reel, as well as a sampler for extra vocal parts. The hard part is choosing who to include, and I've gone for a mix of tracks which showcase the fast rising Irish electronic scene and tracks that I've had on repeat for quite awhile. Bass producer Unknown is on the same label as me ( Champion Sound Music) and never ceases to amaze me, which is why I had to include the track '#003.' Shammen Delly and I both come from Derry and I thought "Brain Cleanse" was perfect for what I set out to do with this mix. As far as labels go, I think Warp take some beating. "Bashful" from Kwes is just an amazing song, so it had to go in. All in all, I tried to make a mix that featured stuff I like, that motivates and inspires me, so i hope you enjoy it."
