The Resurrection Protocol is a visionary electronic music album by Brent James Schoning, performing as Brent Schön AI. At its heart, the project explores resurrection not as religious doctrine or literal event, but as a universal artistic metaphor for renewal, transformation, and the persistent return of creative life force after periods of darkness, loss, or stagnation.
The word “resurrection” is used symbolically throughout—representing the human capacity to rise again through intention, creativity, and conscious choice. It speaks to moments when light returns after shadow, when energy rekindles after depletion, when meaning re-emerges after despair. The album does not claim supernatural truth or historical fact; it offers resurrection as an experiential possibility available to every listener through music and awareness.
Sonically, The Resurrection Protocol blends modern electronic production with spacious, emotive atmospheres. Warm, evolving synth layers create a sense of gradual awakening. Rhythms begin subdued and restrained, mirroring dormancy, then steadily build in presence and momentum, reflecting emergence and renewal. Melodies are luminous and open, carrying gentle uplift without force. Basslines pulse like a reawakening heartbeat—steady, grounding, alive.
The production favors clarity and space. Silence is treated as an active element, allowing each sound to breathe and resonate. Transitions between tracks feel organic, as if one state of being flows naturally into the next. There are no abrupt endings or dramatic drops—only continuous evolution, emphasizing resurrection as process rather than singular event.
Early tracks establish a contemplative mood: minimal textures, soft pulses, distant harmonic shimmer. These reflect the quiet depth before rebirth—the necessary stillness that precedes movement. As the album progresses, layers deepen and expand. Mid-album pieces introduce fuller rhythms and richer harmonies, evoking the moment when energy gathers and life force surges. Later tracks open into expansive, radiant soundscapes—celebrating arrival without triumph or dominance, simply the quiet joy of being renewed.
The Resurrection Protocol avoids narrative authority. There are no characters to follow, no prescribed path to salvation, no imposed beliefs. Instead, the music creates an abstract environment where listeners can experience their own sense of renewal. The album adapts to context—suitable for focused meditation, background presence, movement, or shared listening. It asks nothing of the listener beyond openness.

Brent Schön AI as artistic identity highlights the collaboration between human intention and digital systems. Technology serves precision and consistency, allowing complex layers to coexist in balance. The human element remains central—emotional depth, intuitive flow, and ethical restraint guide every decision.
Visually and conceptually, the album aligns with universal symbols of renewal: light, motion, geometry, and natural cycles. These elements avoid religious iconography or personal claims, keeping the focus on shared human experience. Resurrection here belongs to no single tradition—it is the common spark that appears across cultures when people choose to begin again.

Hello my friends,

I'm super excited to share with you my latest song. This one is extremely special to me. When creating music, I found myself struggling with trying to create works of art that resonated with not only myself, but with others as well. After receiving a ton of negative feedback on my track I had made for Bentley, depression really kicked in. I felt lost as an artist. We all know that depression can snowball and I truly started feeling the weight of it.

One day, I decided to not go for any particular genre and just make a song from whatever flowed out of me. No copying of any sound, no trying to create music for a targeted audience, no genre restrictions. I strove to create a song that was purely an expression of my feelings and musical growth as an artist. 

That is how Catharsis came to be. It felt so freeing not being restricted. When I put aside self doubt and just focused on showing the growth I've had as an artist, I felt like I was flying, free from my emotional turmoils I had been feeling.

I hope you enjoy this track as much as I enjoyed creating it. Please remember that you are amazing in whatever you do and not to doubt yourself because, while we all struggle, its what we do to overcome them that matters.

These songs were written in 2017 (the cover is a rare picture of drunk me at the time), which is when I started to realize I was very likely not a special snowflake and I had to stop complaining about things not always going the way I want, yet that's exactly what I kept doing - to whine about things not going the way I wanted - but, in a brand new indie pop fashion rather than long text messages. (How exciting.)

The production process was very long and boring as I was always changing bits and lryics. After completing the recording in 2019, it got to the point I was fed up with them and put them aside, focusing on other musical projects with my friends (which you can find here on the Collettivo page as well).

I do still believe the songs are quite dumb, however: lately my friend Loup said he wanted to listen to them and gave me a very long and deatiled feedback to convince me there's no reason why these songs should not be available online after all, at least some of them (three out of five, the other two are just too silly), despite their limitations. He's right I guess, so here I am uploading this. I also owe it to all the people I've involved in this and bothered with my demos for years - sorry guys, I'm sure you'll forgive me now that you are mentioned in the "thanks to" section below!
