There are moments of serendipity and grace that make life and, for me, this job so fulfilling. Earlier this year I had the great fortune of being on the same distro team as - one of - this month’s featured artists - Claudio Ambruoso. The first I experienced of this beautiful and kindly soul was through and early morning tumble down into the shattering power of his work: raw, clean, and simple but with echoes of meaning and experience that linger long after the piece ends. I have rarely been so moved at first listen - when it happens it is a grounding and memorable thing. In preparing this month’s show I knew as Woodland Creatures has a wee lull that it was the perfect moment to pass on this experience - to exhale in unison before we continue on with our plans, and the perfect person to guide this journey had to be my dear friend Adam - who I’ve known since at least the year of our Lord 2009. He’s since then gone from being a trip hop/IDM producer - annoyingly much better than me - to being a proper profoundly gifted film composer. In addition to being a gorgeous dude, it was this work - bringing narrative to life through light and considered touch - that is why I asked Adam to weave a narrative around my dear friend Claudio’s EPs from this year - to pick up their tales and deliver them to you. I could not be more excited for you to hear this episode. It is nothing but celebration.
