ON A FULL MOON IN THE COLOMBIAN ANDES
A rather weird night soundscape with a heavy dominance by close insects, set against a repetitive avian songster.
Just behind this, one hears what sounds to me like a species of Neotropical dove, and further back still, what sound like the spirits of the dead, (although I'm sure they're not).   Also in the middle distance, the familiar calls of the Pauraque.
Captured at nightfall on 7th February 2009, using a Sennheiser 30/40 condenser pair in a reflector-rig, into an SD702 running at 48kHz-24Bits.

UK-based, born in Trieste, Italy, Axel Wild (Axel Drioli) turns every wildlife sound into a beat before even hitting record. His music merges electronic grooves with organic natural sounds, shaped by years of international travel through his project Sounding Wild. Sampling the rhythms of nature, he blends contemporary electronic influences with traditional sounds and percussion, crafting sets that evolve like the natural world—starting with deep, contemplative grooves and building into powerful, high-energy instrumentations, echoing the dawn chorus.

Information technologist by trade.  Photographer with a keen interest in the natural world and its inhabitants.  Beginning to learn about recording sound; mostly so that I can learn to better recognise the creatures I hear but don't see when out and about.

A member of the UK-based Wildlife Sound Recording Society, I have been capturing Natural Soundscapes for over twenty years, in Europe, Africa, Asia, and North and South America.

A cabinetmaker by trade.  I have been recording birds for over 42 years.  Even as a seven year old I loved to hear the sound of birds. 
I believe that birdsong is a perfect reflection of the natural environment and yet a part of the experience of the environment.  
Over the years I have made some wildlife films and videos.  For wildlife recording I have been around Ireland, Wales, Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Belize, Guyana, Brazil, Peru and Costa Rica. At the moment I have 26 albums of birdsong/nature, most of which can be found here for free download in high quality F.L.A.C. format.
