Yes monkey’s got him a handful, it’s much more than he needs. 
He isn’t all that hungry, he’s only feeding greed. 
Could be swinging through the trees but now he’s in a cage.
He takes anything he gets because he couldn’t change. 

The more you get the more you want, the less it gratifies. 
Just when you think you’ve got it all, it still don’t satisfy. 
If you had your wealth in silver, you’d still trade it in for gold. 
If you thought you could do better, you’d even sell your soul.

I should point out that Elton and Bernie operated from two rooms - Carroll and I operate from two continents - he's in Texas and I'm in sunny Rochdale!

Could It Be

My mate Paul wrote this very sad song about a break-up, but when we were recording it I kept hearing a Motown-style bass line so I said I'd go off and do my version - and this is it! 

In the grand tradition of songs like 'Band of Gold' and 'Every Breath You Take', the music doesn't necessarily match the sentiment of the lyrics!

It's an homage to Motown complete with brass section, girlie backing vocals, the works!!

Inside Out

I've been a semi-pro keyboard player and singer since the mid 70's but only started writing songs whilst at a loose end in February 2011 - don't ask why!

In no way am I a lyricist so I rely on collaborations with others, nameley my fellow Soundcloud members Paul Beaumont (found on here as The Time Zones), Carroll Kiphen (found on here as Carroll Kiphen!) and Lucy Prasad (yea, you guessed it, on here as Lucy Prasad!!), along with Rod Barry.
