Arkateqq (a.k.a. Woodro Skillson) is a music producer and sound designer specializing in rock, hip-hop, r&b and electronic dance genres. After signing with Headbanga Muzik in 2009, he crafted and remixed records for many of today’s notable artists, working from coast to coast. From beats and live instrumentation, including over 20 years of guitar experience, to songwriting, DJing, brand syncs and production for TV and film, he has racked up years of experience doing it all. His work on Italian artist Fabri Fibra's 'Guerra E Pace' elevated the album to Number 1 in Italy, earning a platinum certification, and he has composed music for 3 RIAA-certified (2 Platinum, 1 Gold) albums in the US. Woodro releases his own songs under the name Arkateqq, and with hundreds of sync placements from independent songwriting, he continues to work with artists and brands who are passionate about imagination and delivering an incredible experience. Some of the best accounts on here have really long bios (I actually appreciate this), and I don't want to be confused with a bot account. If you are a human, I am probably listening to your music (I've definitely heard some AI, you know the sound) but Soundcloud is currently the only place I can hear real unmixed underground shoegaze, wild genre experiments, the weirdest rap flows, and piano ballads all in one sitting. My wife Martine only likes mastered music (she sings on 'God Given' and 'Sun' on this page) but I will sit here and listen through everything because some labels can't/won't and I actually enjoy the process of finding gold in the form of a passionate musician who can only afford to upkeep a Soundcloud account. If no one has heard you yet, keep creating! We still don't know you, but we are listening! Ultimately, my goal is to help computer musicians understand that while playing an instrument is an amazing skill to harness, studio-quality recordings can be made anywhere and at anytime (and with any instrument). I appreciate all the comments, likes and repost that you leave me in my compositions.

I make music for fun and to get away. I have multiple styles, although my biggest influence is in electronic music.

I am self taught and learned with Music Studio 2 on a first generation ipad 11 years ago. I have never composed before. Perform more than 80 songs a year for the first 6-7 years to learn about the program and develop creativity to compose. I have listened to different types of music throughout my life and maybe that has helped me.

I still compose only with an ipad (last generation), but I no longer work only with native MS2 instruments since I have expanded my instrument library with programs such as Audiokit, Digital D1, kv331, Sunrizer, etc ...

My music can be downloaded, but not used for commercial purposes (my authorization is required).

I love listening to & creating ambient, dark ambient, avant-garde & experimental electronica (and the occasional beatscape). I have no professional aspirations  - I just really like creating music / manipulating sounds. It's my way of relaxing after a hard day at the office. All my tracks are produced using monitoring headphones (Audix A140) so I recommend that you listen to my music through headphones. My DAW of choice is FL Studio. I also use Reason every now & then. 


To the artists I follow; I do my best to try to listen to as many of your tracks as possible each night (I listen to each track all the way through - you went through the effort to create a track so you deserve to have it heard in full). If I miss a recent upload of yours, please forgive me...

Have been remastering some of my 'unloved' tracks from the past here on SC - music which has not received as many plays as I would have expected. Maybe 2nd time around your might like it.
The 2025 remastered tracks are being readied for my best of 2025 album in 2026, available January 2026.
I do not use AI on any of my work, just blood sweat and tears, and a lot of emotion/feelings. The reason I have so much music on SC is that I love making music and it is my life. Also I love to share my work with you all, please enjoy.
Have recently discovered some old tracks which I did back in 2009 but have never been previously released or worked on further. Decided to let them see the light of day, unedited and unpolished. Hope you enjoy them and can see where my humble beginnings started.

New year, new start. Back on the search for good music and inspiration. Will be featuring a lot of my older work remastered this year, seems like a long time since I began my composing journey back in 2000.

Am back to making regular music now but sorry no Christmas songs this year. This time of year is very hard for me as it is when my father became very ill and died in the new year 2010. I still miss him very much but hope he would be proud of my musical journey, he is my number one inspiration.
Just a quick personal note on AI and music. I think it is not a good thing for the creative side of music and a lot of it comes without feelings or soul. Creativity is a gift, and should be greatly valued, cherished and nurtured. Music is what makes us human and can never be replaced by a computer.
Finished remastering up to and including 2023 now. Has been a mammoth task but well worth the effort. Next year I shall be working on a remastered series of my pre KORG days 2000 to 2008, in 8 volumes, as well as celebrating in style my 10 years of KRONOS magic, can't wait for 2025.
Have now amassed over 1000 tracks on SC (that's over 8000 minutes of music) and it has been a blast sharing them with you all. Next year 2025, marks the 10th anniversary of the start of my KORG journey.
Am currently putting together a remastered Anthology collection of all my best tracks from 2015 onwards. 2015 consists of a 3 volume set (Now available on Bandcamp). 2016 consists of a 4 volume set. (Also available on Bandcamp). 2017 consists of a 4 volume set. (Available on Bandcamp) 2018 consists of a 4 volume set. (Also available on Bandcamp). 2019 consists of a 4 volume set. Have recently been rediscovering some of my older music pre KORG days and remastering for uploading to my cloud. Hope you like. Seems such a long time ago now.
I have been lucky to have music in my life, and now the time to explore how it can affect other people. I have discovered many new talented artists on SC and am happy to encourage and support their work; from small beginnings come great things. Please be inspired to be your best, inspire others too, encourage those who lack the inner courage to move forward, and together we can make music make a difference in all our lives.
Am spending a lot more time on my music now since retiring from work in July 2020. Always learning new techniques and honing my craft. Am comfortable now with all chord sequences throughout the scales and loving improvising with the help of my mighty KORG still. Am still trying to give my full support and encouragement to all SC users and some latest (you know who you are), are developing nicely. Be good to one another, be gracious to others, leave your ego out of your life and above all else remember there is always someone worse off than yourself. 
Please be kind to each other, to be happy with our lot without jealousy or greed; to give without asking the cost; to love as if there is no tomorrow; to share and inspire others who may be less fortunate than us; most of all to enjoy life for the joy of living, for we know not what the morning brings - stay safe my friends, be strong and always stay positive; remember life changes - DON'T let it change you!!  
Music is my life - has helped me through many dark places, is a big part of who I am. I put my heart and soul into every single piece of music I produce. I have found many wonderful friends on SC and many exciting talented people.  Been writing and producing music now for 40 years plus. Specialised in electronic based orchestral compositions. I have created my own genre which I call 'electrorchestration'.

I set the words to chords on piano. Kind of singing along. I recorded the Casio electric piano, then my sawed-body Austin bass guitar, both plugged in directly. Bass played with a pick. (a square corner of my old driver's license)

The organ pretty much follows the piano chords. Two different organ sounds were used for each song on The Black Cat Record. The same Casio.

Vocals. I recorded one, then muted it and recorded another. So that the second vocal wouldn't be an imitation. One vocal is only on the left, and the other is only on the right. 

I recorded electric guitar plugged into a Blackstar amp, direct-in. Same pick used. I had a Lyon Disturbed signature guitar with a kill switch for The Black Cat Record, and a Squire with a whammy bar for Hex. Rhythm guitar was usually done twice, and only on the left or right, like the vocals. I like to think the left headphone is a slightly different album than the right.  Microphone used: Shure SM57.
