In the caterpillar stage the old life is falling apart and uncharted territory looms. This uncharted space is the cocoon which is there to prepare us to leave our familiarity zone. Beyond the cocoon a new life is slowly forming. This new life is the butterfly stage. If you are entering the cocoon or about to enter then that life may seem far off at the moment.
