Immortal Beloved (Freya Arde Rework)

Swedish rockband Reach added for rotation on one of Germany's biggest radio stations, now they're back with their next single!

Supporting H.E.A.T. during their extensive European tour last summer, REACH played their latest full length album 'The Promise of a Life' live for the first time in front of an ecstatic crowd. Now the band is back with a new and greatly anticipated album in 'Prophecy', full of exciting stories and an untamed rock n' roll attitude, set for release in March next year.

The new campaign got off to a flying start with "heavy rotation" (4 plays/week) for the album's first single "Mama Mama" on Radio Bob, one of Germany's 10 biggest radio stations. The commercial rock radio broadcasts in the German federal states of Hesse, NRW and Schleswig Holstein, reaching over 500k listeners per hour and up to 3 million listeners per day.

Now the band releases the albums second single "Little Dreams", which constitutes a true rock anthem with its melodic chorus and powerful delivery. In true Reach spirit, as the band is known to incorporate a dramatic flare into their tracks, a dark story hides behind the heavy riffs of the new song. Frontman and songwriter Ludvig Turners tells us: “Those of you who´ve listened to Reach before know that we often have a dark theme surrounding the lyrics and the stories within our songs. This song is about a man who knows he's about to die and that falling asleep will ensure this. He struggles to stay awake. He even tries to deal with The Sandman, but fails in the end. There is rarely a happy ending to a Reach song.”

In making the upcoming album, the band teamed up with music producer Christian Schneider, who made it his mission to unite the playful essence of REACH’s music with their raw talent as musicians. The trio consisting of Ludvig Turner, Marcus Johansson and Soufian Ma’Aoui is characterized by their mutual passion for music, their drive for experimentation and finding a very genuine joy in the process. The bond that connects them is evident in their explosive live shows, where their innate musical ability is bolstered by their unchained nature and love for improvisation.

After the wildly successful tour around Europe alongside H.E.A.T, Turner tells us: "We´re overwhelmed by the support and reactions from the tour. It was our first time playing the songs of "The Promise of a Life" live and they sound even better live than on record, and they sound damn well on record. We´re thankful for our chance to go out as H.E.A.T´s support act and we´re confident that we should keep doing what we do."

While making a name for themselves around Europe, steadily growing in supporters and fans, Reach presents this next chapter of their Rock-Saga with a track that will no doubt keep their audience on their toes. ‘Little Dreams’ is out on November 10th via Swedish Boutique Label Icons Creating Evil Art.

What We Leave Behind | Jean-Luc Godard Archives Remixes EP

Invited to explore the archive of the seminal French director Jean-Luc Godard, NYC and Berlin-based group Soundwalk Collective release What We Leave Behind. Drawing on Godard’s personal collection of shot film, reel-to-reels and historical ephemera, the recordings reveal the moments before and after the camera rolls, from stage directions and on-set asides to rehearsals, false stars and outtakes.

For Godard sound is a musical composition and when I began listening to the tapes and heard his voice between takes, it was like little bits of life…each sound has its own value. It has always been part of our working practice to venture into untapped sonic territories, discover the poetics behind them, and explore how we (as humans) relate to it, as part of a larger discourse.”

An insight into to the director’s process and personality, the 6-track album will be followed by a remix EP, featuring unique reworks from Ricardo Villalobos, Jan Jelinek and Petre Inspirescu.

What We Leave Behind, and the subsequent remix EP, arrive 50 years since Jean-Luc Godard, Francois Truffaut and Claude Lelouche publicly announced the closing of the 1968 Cannes Film Festival in solidarity with workers and students protesting across the country.

BABY STRANGE release new single ‘Club Sabbath’, made for the dancefloor of their legendary Club Sabbath night
Glasgow trio Baby Strange are back with a bang in 2021 as they unveil their latest single, the grittily vibrant ‘Club Sabbath’. Vocalist and guitarist Johnny Madden says of the future dancefloor filler: “When we wrote this track we instantly knew we wanted to name it after our club night. It sounds like it was made for a dancefloor. This is one of our favourite songs to date and we can’t wait for people to hear it.

We’re missing Club Sabbath more than ever right now. We started it in 2015 at The Priory on Sauchiehall St in Glasgow and we’ve hosted some really memorable parties. It’s a community spirit with loads of like-minded people. We’ve had live performances or DJ sets from people like Fontaines D.C, Wolf Alice, DMA’s, The Chats, The Magic Gang, Nick Allbrook (Pond) & The Dunts to name a few. The government needs to support independent venues during Covid or there will be nowhere left for new artists to cut their teeth and grow. It’s really important that small venues like The Priory survive through this for that very reason.”

Baby Strange have also announced the release of a brand new EP ‘Land of Nothing’ which features ‘Club Sabbath’ and recent single ‘More! More! More!’ and will be out via Icons Creating Evil Art on 30 April 2020. They’ll be heading out on an extensive UK headline tour in June 2021 under the moniker ‘Land of Nothing Tour’.
