LoveBytes  Vol. 2  - Infatuation/ Desire - Mix Notes :

Music and love are two topics that dominate my existence. I'm driven by the rhythms we create organically,  digitally and personally. One of the reasons I adore music so much is that it creates moments that present to us the notion that we're not alone in experiencing a particular feeling or emotion, especially the good ones. So naturally when Ideal Noise approached me with the idea for the LoveBytes series, I was immediately hooked.  

For "Infatuation/Desire", I wanted to try and capture a few things. First, the intense sensation of a quick heartbeat you get when you see someone you know you are attracted to. Second, the flip side to the moments of elevated pulse; the quiet, constant reminders they leave on your mind when they're not around. Zefora's vocal work does an excellent job of accentuating transitional moments with a poetic narrative that sets the tone with grace. The end result is a twist through emotionally-driven broken beats, bass and ambient spaces alike that reflect a priceless moment in an age-old dance of life that alters our lives forever...Love.

Mix Notes : Is “Happiness” a personal choice? …Is “True Love” the only thing that makes “Happiness” possible? ...The tunes selected for this mix do not offer an answer to those two questions necessarily but somehow relate to the themes. From pain of loneliness and melancholy to the triumph of finding true love and perfect company, they take you on a short journey of self reflection. Hopefully, it will help one find his own answers as no two persons shall go through this journey using the same path.
Again and as always, no attention is paid to how old or new a tune is. The only thing that matters is the overall flow. File Factory file has track listing and cover and cover artwork.

Chillstep Works - Vol. 6 [2011]

An old remix I did under the Digital Faith title. This was the first remix I ever did as Digital Faith!

[NOTE: Digital Faith no longer exists, it's defunct now. BUT! I have a new project - REDUX - and it's like Digital Faith, but a million times better, so please check it out at www.facebook.com/reduxterra I have discovered some more Assemblage 23 stems, so I'll be giving them a shot some time soon! =)]

The song is "Spark" by Assemblage 23. A few years ago, Tom Shear (the mastermind of A23) allowed the free download of stems from Spark, and allowed fans to remix the song and submit them to him personally so he could then upload the songs to the official A23 website.

Unfortunately, time passed (as it does) and the A23 website has changed and the remixes no longer appear to be on there. Which is fair enough, he's going to need space for the next set of remix stems he appears to be preparing for, and whole new and excited era of A23, but that does mean all the fan remixes suddenly became unavailable.

I felt somewhat honoured when I got a reply from Tom saying he loved the mix, and knowing that there are many people out there that still listen to this song and still love it is just an amazing feeling, and that's why I'm uploading it here for free d/l, just as it was before, for everyone to enjoy. It's a temporary upload here, but I will add a permanent d/l to my bandcamp site very soon after I edit some artwork for it, but this will do for a quick solution.

Feel free to share it, it's got a CC copyright on it allowing you to share it around and stuff provided you credit myself (Either as Judah Carvanna or Digital Faith or both, I don't mind) and Assemblage 23, and whatever you do with it, it has to be non commercial.

So, here we are finally ... the last installment in the Chillstep Works series. To make this farewell edition special, this mix tries to represent the collective vibes of all previous nine. The "Chillstep" label came about as result of desperate search for a tag line to give a hint of what to expect if someone decides to give a +90 min. long mix a try but it never prevented me from stepping beyond its narrow and not so well defined confines. This last mix is no exception. From mellow ambient, to deep bass, vocal, melodic and banger dubstep to funky, emotive and dark Future and UK Garage sounds, these 30 tunes represent what always made this series popular and interesting to put together for me personally. And perhaps, that's why it took so long to finish this last one. It’s the longest mix I have ever done (or may try to do again) and at time, it was like pulling teeth. 

As it has been the norm, this installment represent an international roster of unknown, up and coming as well as, some quite well known artists, DJ's and producers also. Ranging from newcomers like Jafu, Luke Kay, Eocene Nine, Masa'an and KASIO ....to upwardly mobiles like Troy Gunner, Ficci, Minorstep, Detz, Neutralize, Delete, Tulpa/ Atlas ...to big names such as Bonobo, Modestep and Submotion Orchestra, this collection tries to showcase the vibes that have had a great impact on myself throughout making all the mixes in the series throughout 
the past 3 years. It's a 2 hour long mish mash again but I hope it works .... I recommend listening to it from start to end without interruption and on high volume.

At the end, I like to give a  huge Big Up to all the hard working DJ’s and producers out there who are always kind enough to send me dubs, demos and WIP’s … and always keep me ahead of the curve on what they are doing. If your work has not made it to this mix or previous ones, it does not mean I don't appreciate what you are doing or think it’s any less superior. I have limited time and resources but always try to do the best to help out as much as I can to put your work out there in front of my own followers and audience in hopes of getting it the exposure it deserves. So ….Keep doing what you love and you'll get the proper recognition and respect sooner or later.

Chillstep Works - Vol. 10  [Free 320K D/L]

Music is my therapy ...It all started with being mesmerized listening to the hypnotic beat of Kraftwerk’s “Trans Euro Express” on a tiny cassette player at a very young age and it continues to this day at an age when I have to worry about “more important” things in life.

This page is an attempt in getting back to mixing some favorite tunes and documenting my ever changing moods and tastes. Any and all comments are welcome and much appreciated.
