Terabyte Records would have reached its 9th birthday, having amassed a rich history of breaking new talent in the D&B scene. GLXY, Tephra (of Tephra & Arkose fame), Sweetpea, HØST, Objectiv, Volatile Cycle, Crypticz, have all released original material with the label over the years.  After a period of hiatus the label comes back to the fore rebranded as Tenfold Audio. With a new backroom staff and 9 years of experience under their belt, they seek to reimpose themselves in the dnb conversation. 

The label’s release as Tenfold comes from Manchester-based duo High Demand, with a remix from Brazilian maestro Bungle. Opening track  “Confession” combines stepping drums with murky low-end tones and eerie vocals.  “Lust” is another stepper, this time laced with funky stabs and rolling bass. Bungle’s “Confession” remix takes us back to the turn of the millennium with his bright liquidy reinterpretation of the lead track. 

Label boss Auzi said: “I’m delighted to finally bring Tenfold to the party, and no better way to do so than the fantastic work from High Demand and Bungle. I’m treating nearly 9 years of Terabyte as the prototype - and hoping we can increase Tenfold’s successes literally tenfold.”

Enigma & High Demand - Gojira [Premiere]

We were recently contacted by Forest Biz to see if we wanted to remix Sahala & Diligent Fingers' track 'RISE' with our brother @enigmamcr, and of course, we couldn't turn the opportunity down. We decided to go for a different approach than our usual style so we hope you enjoy the liquid spin we've put on the track.

Katon – Receiver EP [IDR001] OUT NEXT FRIDAY

Roll in the new with the darkest, freshest beats as Identity Records brings you the next chapter from the underground. The Receiver EP by Katon has culled together four distinctive numbers that push the envelope of DnB through gravity defying subs, crackling undercurrents, and gunshot styled snares.

The title track, “Receiver,” opens up the release, bringing in squalls of bass growls backed by ominous tones. When the drop first hits, it sucks you into a black hole of vibration while the precisely crafted shuffle of the hat section sends shivers up the spine. Brough all together, this is one that grabs hold and makes you forget everything outside of it.

A surging bassline and a hard driving rhythm instantly establish “Espionage” as the powerhouse that it is. This song reveals the prowess of this producer in crafting so much with so little. With bass, drums, samples, and otherworldly atmospheres he crafts an infectious tune that outclasses any competition.  As a result, the simple dynamic shifts of the song construct a distinctive vibe you can’t find anywhere else.

“Croak” is a low-end stepper that feeds the mind while shaking the should. With a descending bassline and a steady groove, it’s impossible to resist dancing to this one. The subtle clicks and mutant sounding FX that dot the landscape further drive the mind into hyperspace, leaving you exhausted yet feverishly craving more. 
For the closing number, Katon delivers “Thief.” Molding an ingenious beat that blends seamlessly with the low end, as well as the ghostly orchestration, makes for a vibe heavy track which takes you by surprise. A craftily placed vocal sample brings the drop in, and it hits with all the force of an atomic bomb. Overall, this one showcases the exciting experimental potential this genre continues to bring to the world.
