I’m a Cliché presents Cosmo Vitelli’s As She Rolled Another, a digital-only EP featuring an original track and gathering alternate versions from the Berlin-based artist’s vaults. It comes a few months prior to his new album planned in February 2022 and entitled Medhead.
 
As She Rolled Another is born out of Vitelli’s desire to share a newly produced track along with significantly alternative versions of existing music, which were created for pleasure. Indeed, Vitelli wanted to play with existing material to take it in strikingly different directions, prior to his album's release.

The unreleased track features singer Izzy Lindqwister and additional production by Krikor. It is a plodding post-punk, dub-infused affair, intimate and insidious at the same time.

The EP also includes two club-oriented tracks he released on Les Disques De La Mort and Malka Tuti along with an alternate take in a kosmiche mood of his collaboration with Julienne Dessagne of Fantastic Twins, also found on his 2019 Malka Tuti EP

She had always pondered the nature of life as an insomniac but had never imagined she might find herself in such a position. Whilst the world lay still, she was wide awake . 

Dirt Crew Recordings are set to release a new EP from Icelandic up and comer Felix Leifur. Based in Reykjavik he is an artist who continues to place emphasis upon the value in community and locality, there are a steady stream of musicians emerging from the area.

Zona Del Silencio or the Zone of Silence is an area deep in the Mexican desert. It is the home of several rare, mutant species of animals (including the purple cactus and a malformed version of the desert tortoise). The area’s name derives from an odd anomaly that prohibits radio waves from transmitting inside the zone. When asked about the strange phenomena, the locals invariably reply that they do not see strange things in the desert, only strange people.

Play this record three times and the IDWT gang will appear in your mirror and smoke you out.

We’ve been showered with big names premiere lately at Bolting Bits, and while we appreciate all this heat sometimes a bit of fresh air is more than welcome.
Meet Sean Thomas, producer of the fourth release on the Australian label OTIS, back at it after having released Otis001. We’ll advise that you keep them all on your radars.

Hate it or love it summer is almost done, beach parties with a prosseco in your hand is always a great thing but we at BT think it’s time to bring the intensity, the urgency, of partying back up a notch. We miss the sweat dropping from the ceiling in the haze of it all. Let’s go deep.

The ep opens with Crew Cut, a steamy cut of deep house. Airy hi-hats and a high pitched string supplement a loopy bassline, timeless chord pattern and a pounding kick. With the occasional vocal one-shot the track feels instantly recognizable in its influences while retaining a strong identity.

Following is ITXC, the track we are proud of premiering today. Enter the dance softly thanks to looping and dubbed pads with a subby bassline smelling strong of early drum n bass, not unlike previous releases on the label. Surprisingly enough the track follows up with a straight kick movement although there are some trace of breaking drums lurking in the background. Is it a set opener or closer? Maybe it’s perfect for the rush hour at peak time? It seems to us that this track will make its impact whenever you play it and that’s possibly its biggest quality. Plus there’s a reference to « that » bird sample... Who doesn’t love a bit of meta-quoting?

B-side opens with Being, taking a similar approach to the aforementioned IXTC while going more to the leftfield part of the spectrum. A gorgeous track meant for special moments.

Enhancing this recipe, the closing track Actuall explores more techy and minimalist territories for a subtle introspective journey. It feels like floating on a cloud and should mark a strong impression with the right soundsystem.

The unique and sonically explorative journey of Dokutoku Records continues, as the imprint unveils its first digital LP. Label head Katie Drover joins a cast of 6 extraordinary talents to deliver both warmth and verve on ‘The Embrace’. A collection of intimate musical spells that as the title suggests, will surround the listener in a serene tapestry of soothing sounds. The LP features beautiful pieces from French songstress Molly, Russian beat-smith Tripmastaz and British machine man 100Hz, as well as Portuguese producer Jorge Caiado, Spanish gun Julian Perez and Dubai based creative Nasrawi, alongside two immaculate offerings from Katie Drover herself. Delicate, sometimes low slung, but always encapsulating a deep, soulful elegance, these tracks meld a variety of sonic influences ranging from hip-hop and breakbeat to dub techno and ambient. This embrace is sure to be a lasting one, with a deeply emotive echo that captures an incredibly poignant moment in time.

This pivot toward a digital approach from a previously vinyl only label is an adaptation to the myriad of changes thrust upon the industry by this global pandemic. As venues and performance spaces continue to struggle with lockdowns and restrictions, the ability of artists to generate their income has been severely hampered. The ease of digital platforms is a welcome aid during this time, allowing artists to disseminate music to their fans in more economical and timely fashion. With all this in mind 100% of the profits from this release will go directly to the artists involved.

"Dance for Belarus" - the first release for the Belarusian label Estetika.

The album will feature tracks from representatives from across the Belarussian electronic scene: Fitzzgerald, Schmoltz, Leap and Aslamin. Compilation was also supported by European artists: Johannes Albert(DE), Donald Dust (UK), Daniel Monaco & Futuristant (NL) and Rambal Cochet (RU).The release will be in aid of raising funds for Belarusians who were subjected to repression after the August 9th rigged elections in Belarus.
