This musical material is very dear to me and it came to me many years ago, in about 2002. I would walk to my bus stop to go to school or walk to the bazar always humming these few very simple chords. They were stuck in my head for quite some years. Strange that at that time I had never considered doing anything with this material. Maybe because I was very much occupied with abstract contemporary conceptual music back then. The older I become the more I appreciate clarity, simplicity and emotion in music rather than complexity and hidden abstract concepts. The time to unfold this material came 20 years after. Thomas Nakas aka @to_mi_nor brought it to life  by creating a beautiful piano part, structure and arrangement. This is our second EP and there are more works to come!

The improvisations are rough, meaning that I recorded them in one take with no corrections or editing and this represents the concept of this EP. Do we have to be perfect at all? Or is it maybe more important to honestly communicate your thoughts, your feelings, regrets, nostalgia?..

Imperfect//Monologs (Intro)

A Skyrim Soundtrack Expansion Project.

Taking both elements from Oblivion and Skyrim and trying to combine them into something that fits neatly into Skyrim's already existent soundscape and OST.
I always wanted to do this, and now I believe I have the tools necessary to pull it off - I hope...
This little introductory piece took me (calculating in the time I needed to find good enough melodies in my head without copying everything the existing soundtracks already do, arranging things so they work as intended, building up a new orchestral template I can work off of to create more cohesive pieces within this project, getting all the libraries I required etc.) half a year. 
Not constant work of course, for this iteration I took about 2 months - but there are so many prototypes waiting to be salvaged into something worthwhile that did not become *this*...
It took a lot of thinking and frustration.

And I am still not "perfectly" happy with the result. The mix but most importantly the arrangement and some harmonic structures are very lacking in some places, it isn't as thematically consistent as I wanted it and I feel like I still need a lot of practice with my new libraries to get the best out of them.

But aside from that, I am still very proud of it. I again learned more from this piece and everything it took to get it done than I have in a long time.
So I'd mark it down as a definite success, especially since it opens up the doors to an entire new project that I can sink my teeth into - especially especially because it is about Skyrim. And there are few things that I am as passionate about and emotionally connected to as I am with the fifth entry in the Elder Scrolls Series.

I will vastly improve in the fields of composition, arrangement and thematic consistency on the upcoming tracks, because now I actually have a structure I can build upon instead of no ideas and an empty DAW.
So expect better things to come and forgive me my shortcomings on this first entry in a hopefully long line of pieces to this puzzle.

INTERSTELLAR ( Main Theme) | Hans Zimmer

This work for piano was composed using material from an earlier composition from 2010 for Concert Band called Eklektikos. Here the work begins with the Impromptu and incorporates a dream of love as a centerpiece of the work, returning to reprise the first and second themes in reverse order to close. This work was composed mainly at my Piano in my home, entered through Sibelius software note for note, adjusted for presentation and output to wav, remastered at suno.com, and then I used Studio software to make adjustments to create what you hear in this presentation.

After getting all my work done, I felt like sitting down in front of my piano that is decorated with all kinds of lights and figures. Igor Iofe is a
composer whose musical
paths lead to diverse stylistic destinations. Currently Igor's focus in music is Armenian traditional duduk repertoire which he performs on trumpet. He brings the beauty and warmth of the duduk into his trumpet playing.

At the Conservatorium van Amsterdam he studied with  Wim Hendrickx,Richard Ayres,  Fabio Nieder,Willem Jeths and Jorrit Tamminga. Igor attended masterclasses with Misato Mochizuki, Dmitry Kourliandski, Tristan Murail andTan Dun. His music was performed at the Composers’ Festival Amsterdam (2012 and 2013), Atlas Academy (2010-12),  Looptail XXX and at such venues as De Link, De Duif, Het Bethaniënklooster, Het Veem, STEIM, Muziekgebouw aan 't Ij and CvA in Amsterdam and other cities of the Netherlands. His piece Y+Ywas performed by the Joint Venture Percussion Duo at several venues in the USA and Europe.

Parallel to his Classical Composition studies Igor studied Composing Music for Film with Jurre Haanstra and graduated as a Master in Composing for FIlm at the CvA. During his studies he wrote music for several movies which were shown at the Beeldbuis Filmfestival, Keep an Eye Film Festival, VERS Awards, Cinekid Filmfestival, M2M Filmfestival and Pleinbioscoop Rotterdam.
