Hotflush's first release of 2014 introduces a handful of new faces to label. The single, a moody house slow-burner titled "Ride With You," comes from UK duo The White Lamp, a collaboration between stalwart London producer Darren Emerson and vocalist Peter Josef. 

In addition to an extended dub by Emerson, the record also features remixes by the militantly mysterious Berlin trio ItaloJohnson and Fachwerk label boss Mike Dehnert, who inject the original with a shock of jacking minimalism. 

Italojohnson's vinyl-only version uses a gummy bassline and elastic percussion to craft a tightly-wound tool, while Dehnert strips the track  of its dense atmospherics and supplies crisp, herky-jerky drum programming.

The 41st release on Sound Avenue finds the Belgian imprint showcasing the winner's from the labels recent Han Haak 'Slaves In Transit' remix competition. The Original version was one of the standout selections on the labels 2013 Summer Sampler. The remix competition yielded several worthy submissions and after narrowing down nearly one hundred entries to ten label boss Dominique Heyninck began the arduous task of selecting the ones best suited to the ever evolving Sound Avenue umbrella. With a commissioned remix from Sebastian Markiewicz already in the bag the three competition winners chosen in the end were Mohn (NL), Phonic Scoupe and Matt Cahill. 
The first (and previously commissioned) remix is supplied by Sebastian Markiewicz who makes his Sound Avenue debut following three appearances on sister imprint Crossfade Sounds. The Polish producer's mammoth techno take on 'Slaves In Transit' shines with a tough granular groove, futuristic sound swells and apocalyptic overtones which are sure to be devastating on the darker dancefloors. 
Capturing the prestigious first place spot in the competition was Mohn (NL) who has already achieved some nice success with an appearance on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeats Volume 2 compilation which was released in June of this year. The Dutch producers inspired take on timeless techno has been perfectly captured once again on his 'Slaves In Transit' remix. It's shimmering keys and shifty tones are undeniably catchy and the blissful harmonic underbelly is the icing on the cake. A standout interpretation from a future star in the making. 
Second place in the competition went to the hugely up and coming Phonic Scoupe. In addition to a strong run of releases on Stripped Recordings the production trio has turned in several outstanding bootlegs this year. For their 'Slaves In Transit' interpretation Phonic Scoupe have turned in a deep and groovy rework which proves to be an excellent contrast to the previous more techno inspired mixes. It's elastic-like bass hooks, drifting soundscapes and expertly tailored electronics make for one of the best remixes of their career thus far.
Closing the release out is the third place winner and relative newcomer Matt Cahill. With no previously released productions Matt took a shot in the competition and scored big. His atmospheric tech house reconstruction proves to not only be a great addition to the package but the beginnings of a very promising production career.

It's been a great year for us, releasing some music we really believe in, working with people we really respect and somehow leaving our footprint on the brazilian and international electronic music scene. On our 10th release, we feel like we have inspired a whole generation of artists, from newcomers to old school djs and producers, who created this music exclusively for our label. Esteemed Belgian artist Igor Vicente is next up on Get Physical with two terrific tracks that straddle the divide between house, minimal and techno.

This release comes three years after his label debut and after plenty of fine outings on imprints such as Hot Creations and Mobilee. Vicente’s deep, atmospheric tunes have also come under his now dormant Ultrasone project, and as a DJ he has been resident at legendary Belgium clubs Café d’Anvers and Fuse as well as promoting his own parties like Wildfamily and State of Flow.

The excellent opener ‘Endless’ features Eka and is a slippery and supple deep house track with fluttering toms and rubbery drums encouraging you to get loose. Neon xylophone melodies dance up top to bring more smoothness to this truly warm and groovy cut.

The brilliantly driving ‘Disc’o’clock’ is a prickly and slick electronic house effort. The punchy drums are kinetic and tightly programmed. Warm synths are bendy and wonky and as the pressure builds it cannot fail to cast its trippy spell.

These are two innovative house tunes from a man whose sound is constantly evolving and another fine release from the Get Physical label.

Igor Vicente and Arne step up for their collaborative ‘Amberes’ debut on Santé’s imprint, AVOTRE. Having previously released on the likes of Mobillee, Visionquest, Hot Creations and Supplement Facts, Vicente’s sound is a smooth blend of House and Techno. 

AVOTRE57 is two dance floor ready cuts, a whirlwind of synth oddities, rolling baselines and sinister vocals. ‘Pushin’ Me’ fuses tribal percussion with sleek and groove-driven tech beats. ‘Ambres’ takes a more minimal approach, with playful and skippy percussion offset with sultry vocals.

i remember when i first heard the magical and beautiful voice of trish keenan. it was the track 'accidentals', which still remains one of my favourite tracks. this voice was so singular. understated; beautiful; like something from another planet. the ineffable things she conveyed through her voice affected so many people, even if they couldn't say exactly why. i think it was because she was an amazing musician. she will be sorely missed. goodbye trish. x

Surfing beyond genres and pointless tiers, Belgian multifaced artist Igor Vicente has been playing records nonstop over his brilliant career by taking seriously just one thing: the music. 

Part of the acclaimed duo Ultrasone or as solo, Igor got his music released on prestigious labels like Visionquest, Mobilee, Get Physical, and Jamie Jones' legendary Hot Creations. In 2005, he started his WILDFAMILY parties at Decadance in Gent, which has become one of the strongest house music parties in Belgium and then began his residency and label STATE OF FLOW at the infamous Fuse club in 2013. Over the years, the parties have hosted names like Jamie Jones, Sammy Dee, Matt John, Perlon night, Dinky, Guy Gerber, Amelie Lens, Tobi Neumann, Clive Henry, Seth Troxler, and Shaun Reeves, among others. They are the ones who have also played his marvellous productions over the years, with legends like Marco Carola and Jamie himself still banging out Igor's timeless tracks. 

From glorious house anthems to steady techno outbursts, from stripped-back minimalist rhythms to funky disco jams, Igor just let the flow go, bringing together his mixing skills, eclectic selection, and unique charisma all over the world. All this led him playing at the some of biggest electronic meccas, including DC10 and Space Ibiza, Fuse Brussels, Output NYC, Fabric in London, Berlin's renowned Watergate and Italy's house & techno sanctuary Cocorico. 

The paths given by music are endless, and so is Igor's appetite for exquisite yet refined electronic beats, constantly evolving and looking for the perfect soundtrack for your musical journey.
