When I was a young teenager I loved Glam Rock Music. The Sweet, Slade, T. Rex, Suzi Quatro, Glitter Band and Alice Cooper were my rock heroes. I listened to the radio shows every week and recorded the top hits on a cassette tape ... and I always hoped that the DJ wouldn't talk into it. I also wanted to be a Glam Rock Star and bought my first guitar. Unfortunately, the talent wasn't enough for a career as a superstar. Today I'm only an old rock, but my heart still beats in the rock and roll rhythm. This song is my personal tribute to the crazy Glam Rock days.
Except for the drums (I won't be so good anymore) everything is played by myself. For a long time I tried singing again and used the OMCB choir at the end of the song ;-)

‘Had we returned home in 1916, out of the suffering and the strength of our experiences we might have unleashed a storm. Now if we go back we will be weary, broken, burnt out, rootless, and without hope. We will not be able to find our way anymore.
And men will not understand us – for the generation that grew up before us, though it has passed these years with us already had a home and a calling; now it will return to its old occupations, and the war will be forgotten – and the generation that has grown up after us will be strange to us and push us aside. We will be superfluous even to ourselves, we will grow older, a few will adapt themselves, some others will merely submit, and most will be bewildered; – the years will pass by and in the end we shall fall into ruin.
But perhaps all this that I think is mere melancholy and dismay, which will fly away as the dust, when I stand once again beneath the poplars and listen to the rustling of their leaves. All quiet. Niente di nuovo.
Where is the storm, the awe
that yelling at the top
of our lungs, the desperate flight?
Im Westen Nichts Neues, Europa.
Before and after, hidden and heedless.
Consciously superfluous to yourself.

We walk your geology Europa
And nothing is pristine.
What is missing, what thought
what sorrow?
It cannot be that we forgot our intents.
You keep withdrawing.
And I keep talking to myself.

Poetry, Field recording and the More-Than-Human Human

'I use this space to offer an experience of Sonopoetry, the voice of verses combined with field/sound recording and music collaborations.
Writing and composition marked the passage from pre-history to history for human beings. I firmly believe that writing&listening (active care/empathy and full attention to each and every sound from each and every living and non living being) could inform, guide and represent the Posthuman era that I'll call Human Human era -from sapiens sapiens to human human.
The contemporary alliance between the disciplines of Art, Science and Philosophy elicits the conceptualisation of the Posthuman that to me also implies the transition from the Anthropocene to the Age of Art as a driver of thought and vision. I advocate the responsibility to assign a 'more than human' meaning to the Posthuman concept, that's why More-Than-Human Human, in order to emphasise the human core, the genetic connection to bio and non-bio diversity as per the Biophilia Hypothesis.

Born 6 January 1972, Ilaria Boffa is an Italian poet and sound recordist. 
She has published four poetry collections and she is one of the eight authors included in the North East American Association publication ‘Writing in a Different Language’ Vol XL 2018.
Over the last years, she has been experimenting with field recording, blending her spoken word with sound.
