I'm here to share and appreciate all genres of music.  Most of what I am currently recording is electronic, and largely ambient, in nature; however, I have recently started recording cover songs of various tunes.  So, since I'm no longer strictly ambient (only mostly), I've changed my SoundCloud name to Smooth Waters Sonic Journeys.  Headphones greatly enhance the listening experience. This project has been active for 10+ years. This is a solo project but many of my beats come from a large variety of producers (see "Produced by ____" in song paranthese) from all over the globe. Sometimes I also produce or co-produce (see older material). I've played 500+ shows. I have vinyl and cassette tapes available for sale on my merch page. I beat box. I freestyle. I rap battle. Jon Rando is just your average random guy on the internet who makes a bit of music and art in his spare time.  Alright, that's enough of this 3rd person weirdness.

I make all this stuff with Jeskola Buzz and maybe some free VST's.  I started messing around with it in the late 90's as a teen and have sort of gotten back into it as a hobby in the last several years.  I also played drums in a garage band for many years and play a bit of guitar/bass as well, though none of that here.

In addition to dabbling with music, I also do a lot of photo manipulation stuff with GIMP as a hobby as well.  Most of the track art is stuff I have altered in some way or created from scratch.

In general, most of these songs are released under CC licenses and I have downloads enabled on most of the tracks.  So you are free to use something you like for your projects if you would like.
