PFG The Progcast Episode 121 (Part 2) - Higgins

Hello everyone, and welcome to Wednesday... this is the Il Modo Progcast, set sail with us around Planet Prog, as we search for those perfect dance floor beats! 

We have scheduled an internal flight today as we shift our focus to Sydney, and the home of an ex-pat Brit who has made Australia his home. Boasting a CV as impressive as they come, it is with great pleasure we introduce to you... Tristan Case! 

Tristan Case’s creative flame is burning bright in Sydney, Australia. The renowned, long-time Return To Rio resident DJ has been unveiling a series of stunning solo musical creations since 2020 to take his career to the next level. 

His first solo release, an epic 6-track EP titled ‘Chapter One’, released under Behrouz and Megan Nazari’s dream-weaving Do Not Sit On The Furniture label, hit number one on the overall Beatport release chart, along with the number one in the Organic House genre in November 2020. Since then Tristan has followed up with 12 top 100 tracks and two further Number 1 releases.  2022 and 2023 is looking very exciting for Tristan, with several releases and remixes already signed and confirmed on some of the global music scene’s finest & innovative labels. 

Tristan’s passion for House music was first ignited as a teenager living through the golden era of the DJ mix compilation album in the mid-90s. As a semi-pro drummer from a very early age,  he played the live music circuit in London and the South East of the UK. He taught himself how to DJ on vinyl at the age of 16, which opened his mind to the idea of pursuing a creative career.  From bedroom DJ, to tearing off the roof at house parties, and many years of dedication Tristan steadily established himself as a key figure within the Sydney scene. This resulted in him earning the enviable role as one of the main residents for Australia’s melodic and progressive house institution -  ‘Return to Rio’ in 2012, which continues to flourish to this day. 

Tristan is heavily relied on to consistently deliver flawless warm up & close sets for some of the globes heavy weights, such as The Martinez Brothers, M.A.N.D.Y, Jodie Wisternoff, Super Flu, Patrice Baumel, Sasha, Digweed, Anthony Pappa, Dirty South and many more. 
 
Tristan’s penchant is to build very emotive, melancholic yet positive storylines within his tracks, backed with a distinctly unique sound and powerful rhythm section, which results in incredible music that paints vivid pictures in the mind.

Lynsey started her journey into dance music in the early 90’s after friends took her to
Renaissance at Venue 44 in Mansfield. From the start she loved the progressive
house sound and was a regular at The Orbit in Morley, Ark and Soak both in Leeds.
She worked in a record shop at the time, buying her first set of Technics 1210's
originally so she could do something with her addiction to buying vinyl. She began
playing breakbeat in clubs around Manchester and shortly after that her voyage into
DnB began. She landed 2 residencies in her home town of Huddersfield and 2 radio
shows (Future sounds and Liquid sessions) which resulted in her playing at various
events across the country. She had a 5-year break whilst having her son, but
returned to the music scene in 2018. A friend she met on the progressive house
circuit encouraged her to get back on the decks and that’s where her current
following started which has been rising ever since. She is known for building
atmospheric breaks sets that meander through progressive breaks and progressive
house effortlessly, inviting her listeners to join her on a journey. Lynsey has 2
monthly shows on Subcode radio. Momentum being her breaks show and Yana, a
6-hour showcase where she is joined by producers and dj's from across the world
dance music spectrum. She regularly guests on other radio stations, most recently
Resonate together on DI.FM and Affiliate on Frisky. Her next live set will be for
Coalition underground at Kanteena in September alongside Darren Emerson, Dave
Seamen and Lexicon Avenue.

We're in Buenos Aires, and the home of such a bright and upcoming talent, that PFG is happy to showcase to you, so please give a warm welcome to Lucas Gomez! 

Lucas Ariel Gómez is an Argentine DJ and producer born in the southern area of ​​Lomas de Zamora (Province of Buenos Aires). His enthusiasm for music was first born at a young age listening to music with his family, from national rock and international rock. 

His passion for electronic music began to emerge when he was 12 years old when he was given the 'Clubland'  compilation album by Hernan Cattaneo. From that moment he wanted to fully learn how to be a DJ, a career move further solidified when he was given his first mixer at 15 years old. Since then, Lucas has experimented with different forms of electronic music, until he happened upon his favourites, Progressive, Deep, Melodic House & Techno.

PFG The Progcast - Episode 127 - Lucas Gomez (AR)

Hello Everyone, and welcome back to our weekly exclusive Progcast. Our mission, to search and find the best possible progressive beats and rhythms out there, join us on our quest, come see what we have found! 

Returning to another of our favourite haunts, the party plane hits Scotland and its wild eastern regions. Here, we find an artist who has a rich history in his country's dance music scene, now with the skills and attributes to run TWO labels, artist management AND still DJ to the highest level. PFG give it up for Brent Lawson!

Raised on a steady diet of 80s synth music, Brent has always had one foot on the dancefloor. A clubber first, it was a fateful trip to nearby Arbroath that first opened his mind to the possibilities of electronic music as a DJ: “I had a love for the electronic sounds created by Jean Michele Jarre from that point I was drawn into electronic music.” He says, citing the Rhumba Club a favourite venue from his youth. 
“This night has informed so many years of my clubbing history and is responsible for everything that I have done and will do.”

The late Nineties were a fertile time for those venturing into DJing. And for Brent, gigs came quickly. After a short break raising and supporting his family, Brent is now free to refocus on his music and his company Probtech Management.

Comprised of two record labels and an Artist management company Probtech is a business on the up. With key additions to his staff this shows just how serious Brent takes his brand, and processes are in place to put Probtech in the same ballpark as the Bedrock’s, Drumcode’s and Toolroom’s of the industry.

On top of his own work with Pro B, Brent has taken up a new role with MOAI
Spain as the U.K. and Ireland consultant, he is also a director and resident of AATM Radio, resident of Music Is The Answer Dundee, Proton Radio Monthly resident, and soon to be taking on a new residency with Beach Radio.

At heart Brent is a DJ who just loves to share his passion for the music with his audience. As Resident at one of Dundee’s premiere nights MITA he regularly rubs
shoulders with the best DJs in the world. Brent is also making his first forays into the production world with a few releases under his belt, including music with Hernan Cattaneo, Soundexile, Quivver, Blue Amazon and most recently a new release on Balkan Connection...
