Hello everyone and welcome back onboard the PFG Progcast! We take you around Planet Progressive every week, forever searching for the best and most exclusive sets from the best DJs we can find... 

Born in the UK, but now residing in Denver US, our artist today has only been around our scene a small time, and is already making big moves within it. A stellar 2022 now looks set to bring rich pickings this year, with many a clued in listener eager for his services. 

Cooking up something a little different today, a DJ mix made with lots of live, on the fly edits JUST for this mix, including a very special intro exclusively for us, and a raft of unreleased music straight off the mixing boards. PFG give it up for the awesome Orticaan.

Daryl Thomas (AKA Orticaan) was born in the UK,  but has since moved to the States. Making the well travelled route to Cream in Liverpool, a young Daryl could always be found front and centre of a packed, Cattaneo led dance floor, keen to focus on the skills of the Argentine master. All the filter sweeps, the bass fades, juggling three decks at once, a master craftsman's workshop in mixing and track selection. 

These are keen influences on how Daryl approaches his work, more suited to sound design and production. Why create a DJ mix when you can create and influence the sounds in a mix instead? 

These influences, plus listening to unsung heroes of our scene like Lucien Foort, Remy and Perry O'Neill combine to bring you the soundtrack you hear today. Progressive house melodies, filling vast electronic soundscapes, laced with driving bass-lines, all boxed into a beautiful ethereal package.

Its these packages of aural joy that the cream of our scenes label's are quickly forming a queue to get hold of. AH Digital, Arcedian, Moussaieff, LateNightMusic, ProBtech, Sounds and Frequencies and Droid9 have all noticed the clear talent Orticaan has, and its a queue that will get deeper and deeper this year.

'I play using Ableton live, with custom effects and EQ racks. I focus on making every mix something special, running long loops and re-editing tracks for one-off, on-the-fly moments. Orchid Kid - Ocean Planet 140 [February 10 2023] On Proton Radio

Hello Everyone, and welcome back on board a special edition of our exclusive weekly podcast. We are helping to celebrate St David's Day across the world with our Welsh members and listeners, step inside and see what we have for you! 

We travel to the far ends of Planet Progressive this week, and the home of a proud Welshman making waves in New Zealand. His passion and dedication to our scene spans over 20 years, with several quality releases under his belt too. PFG make some noise for the brilliant Nick Lewis!

Nick is a Welsh DJ/Producer, now living in NewZealand, who first caught the electronic music bug in 1989. Initially it was through the more commercial tracks that made it into the charts, but it didn't take long before a healthy raving & crate digging addiction was formed. From this point Nick was either spending time in record stores, dancing at illegal raves, or on the dancefloors of clubs like Lakota, The Crystal Rooms, and Brunel Rooms.

The moment it all changed for him was hearing FSOL's Papua New Guinea for the first time. This ethereal sound took Nick down a musical rabbit hole, where he later discovered artists like Áutechre, Aphex Twin & B12. The more ambient, atmospheric, vibe, has always influenced Nick's choice of music. 

Soon after he started making 'mixtapes' by pausing one track and bringing in another, which is always fun to do! It was when he got his hands on a pair of Soundlab Belt Drives, and learning to mix to a reasonable standard with them, that the DJ bug bit hard! Like so many others, Nick looked to the likes of Sasha & also James Zabiela whilst refining his art, and production came naturally after that. 

As far as production goes Nick was fortunate to get a remix on a GU compilation early on, and more recently has had his music released on Massive Harmony, Stellar Fountain, and Be Adult Music. 

In 2022 Nick got three of his releases into Beatports Top ten, while for 2023  he will be working on another collaboration, with the super talented Darren Ray, amongst plenty of of other projects in the pipeline on his own label, Emotional Content.

Nick has taken his DJ talents as far afield as Siberia, Europe and now regularly plays at boutique festivals in New Zealand, while also holding down monthly slots on Frisky and Proton Radio respectively.

For this special set, Nick showcases his skill of combining several genres into a beautiful musical journey,  taking in ambient, breaks and deeper house cuts, before settling into a cool progressive vibe, and ending with some legendary anthems to boot. Enjoy the mix!

Hello Everyone, and welcome to the midweek bump that is our exclusive Progcast! We fly you  first class around Planet Progressive every week, on the hunt for the best beats we can find, strap in for another belter! 

We are back in the UK today, and back at the home of one of our favourites. Since returning to the scene a few years ago, conquering the online business,  its great to see her getting LIVE gigs again too.. Make some noise for LYNSEY!

Lynsey started her journey into dance music in the early 90’s after friends took her to V44 in Mansfield. The night was Renaissance and from the start she loved the progressive house sound. Lynsey was also a regular at The Orbit, Morley, Ark and Soak in Leeds, while also working in a record shop.

After a 5 year break having and raising a son, Lynsey returned to the music world in 2018, her love of all things Progressive House having returned also. A friend she met through nights out encouraged her to get back behind the decks and that’s where her new, and growing, following started.

She is known for building lush sets that meander seamlessly through Progressive house and breaks, so effortlessly that she always take her listeners on a journey. This is the ethos of YANA, to invite DJ’s to join her on her Subcode show that she's met on her own musical journey.

YANA is a Hebrew word that means journey or some might say spiritual path. The show, and now the events are put together to include all sounds across the Progressive spectrum, for the love of the music, without ego's through having headliners. Lynsey programmes her mixes and DJs to flow musically rather than just booking the big names that everyone looks for. 

Lynsey is now a resident DJ on Subcode, with her monthly 6 hour Yana show, which has now branched out into live gigs! You can catch her at two shows soon, in London & Huddersfield, details for which are on the link at the bottom of this bio..
