Hello Everyone, and welcome along to the infamous midweek bump that were call The Progcast! Join us as every Wednesday we scour the dance floors of the world to bring you an exclusive DJ Mix ...

Back a couple of weeks, we debuted the Progcast in Hungary, well we loved it so much we  had to go back! Now based in the UK, Il Modo is very proud to present Jose Tabarez !!

Hungarian born, UK based Progressive House DJ/Artist, Jose's interest in electronic music started with '90s band The Prodigy, and the techno genre dug into his heart. From that day, electronic music  has become the cornerstone of his life.

In the 2000s he was introduced to Progressive House, Jose loved the magical melodies and feeling of this genre. Over the years, he has tried various underground electronic musical trends and mixed them with broken beats to give them an un-edged music style but Prog & Techno have always stayed in his heart. When Jose began producing in 2010, back then break beats were a big influence on him.

Jose has already been supported by big DJs, such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Anthony Pappa, Darin Epsilon, Fernando Ferreyra, Nick Varon and Frangellico. In 2013, he started hosting his own radio show "Progressive Stories" on American Internet radio station, Pure.FM. His hard work and respect to the scene during this time gave him the opportunity to get involved in managing and organising big events, such as "The Break of Dawn" & "Classic Progressive Journey".

In early 2017 Jose joined Consapevole Recordings as a Label Manager. He brought a new image to the label and is  still continuing his passion for Progressive House with this respected marque.

Nowadays Jose's sound has changed to more of a deep but energetic melodic number. Anchored by smooth, rolling bass tones his tracks methodically work their way through a variety of subtle motifs, from a delicate vocal narrative to panning musical fragments. Rich in character and wonderfully shaped, they set a fluid groove for all of Jose’s subtle melodies to work their magic. Jose always pays attention to the details of sounds which balances your mood at the end of the journey.

Continuing to add new talent to their roster, Tash's Movement Limited welcomes Around Us to the label for their debut EP. Based in Amsterdam, Around Us first emerged in 2018, quickly establishing themselves as a rising act with releases via Balkan Connection's BC2, LuPS Records and Magnitude Recordings. World class DJ and progressive music tastemaker Hernan Cattaneo was the first to chime in with support. Showcasing one of the duo's early productions 'Sleeping Blue' as part of his hugely popular Resident podcast. Fast forward five years and Around Us is well established in the progressive house underground, with an impressive resume highlighted by appearances on 3rd Avenue, Clubsonica and Mango Alley. Now, following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album for Paul Hazendonk's Manual Music, Around Us debuts on Movement Limited with 'Breathe'. Around Us continues to explore timeless progressive narratives on the lead selection 'Breathe'. Rhythmically charged, its smooth pulsating cadence, soulful vocal wails and mesmerizing percussion set the piece on a course for hypnotic enlightenment. Wavy arps marry perfectly with rolling grooves across the first movement, before a nostalgic lead theme highlights the main break, nicely setting up a wonderfully cosmic finale. The second selection 'Bartok' proves to be a worthy complement with its deep, driving energy. Punchy beats power the groove, while flickering percussion, vocal stabs and plonky tones add rhythm, space and intrigue. Continuing to evolve as the main break commences; broken beats and operatic vocal phrases create a unique emotional response, before eventually melting down into a thumping drop and spirited melodic conclusion. The third and final selection 'Youth' continues the deeper progressive minded flow with a gorgeous hypnotic narrative. A rolling low end sets the track in motion as clustered sonics, icy sweeps and buoyant rhythms move through the framework as the main break approaches. Trippy and mysterious, the interlude sits at the core of the storyboard, with its timeless appeal eventually revealing a delicate melodic theme, eleganting rising towards a tasteful crescendo and smooth emotive finale to round out the EP in style.
