Hello everyone, we are back once again with our weekly exclusive Progcast, the globe trotting mix series that plunders planet progressive for the best DJ mixes we can lay our hands on. This week we land back in the hotbed of house that is London Town, and a DJ with his roots firmly in the scene, please make some noise for Tom McMorrow! 

McMo started DJ-ing back in the late 1990s, playing House, Techno, Trance and Psy-Trance. At that time, one of the biggest influences on him was a pirate radio station called Point Blank. 25 years later Point blank are one of London’s longest running legit radio stations, and Tom has a bi-weekly show on it where he features a selection of the latest and greatest Progressive House music.  

McMo also holds a residency at Progressive House UK (PHUK) where you can find special monthly releases from him and a host of other top DJs.  McMo’s passion and energy for Progressive house shines through his mixes, carefully crafted to give the listener a unique journey into its rich and varied sound.

Hello and welcome to the Exclusive Series (with Subcode)

Featuring the skills and talents of Dublin's unique trio of Electronic music artists, Fusion Underground. Each month we highlight each of our DJ's Glenn Molloy/Gorgonoize, Soulfinder and Khakra, with a 2 hour set aired every 4th Thursday of the month.

This month, we kick off the new year in smart fashion with Khankra, Dave Morrissey, for yet another outstanding 2 hours. 

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Khankra’s passion for electronic music started at a young age and has continued to evolve with time. Khankra’s roots have always been entwined in hypnotic grooves, rolling basslines and driving melodies.

At 17 he purchased his first set of 1210’s and from there he began forging a name for himself in the Dublin scene, playing at nights across some of the city’s best clubs like The Redbox, The Pod, the Button Factory, Traffic, Mono, The Chocolate Bar.

After somewhat of a hiatus from the scene, in 2014 Khankra had the opportunity to warm up for industry icon, and personal hero, Sasha at The Button Factory.

Following this, Khankra teamed up with the Melodic Residents and handed the headphones over to some other industry legends during this time, including Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Los Soruba, The Drifter and Guy J on a number of memorable occasions.

In late 2019, Khankra teamed up with DJ’s Glenn Molloy and Soulfinder to form Fusion Underground. Since then the group have started the Fusion Underground Mix series, which has had some excellent support across the industry and continues to grow.

Khankra has a number of Production projects in play, adding to his releases already on Compatible Records. We should also expect to see Khankra and some top acts playing at Fusion Underground gigs in the near future!

Hola a todos! Yes, we are back with the series that everyone is talking about, Il Modo's globe-trotting Progcast homes into view once again, packed to the rafters with another exclusive DJ mix from the far reaches of Planet Progressive.

This week we are in South America again, but for our first ever visit to Peru! Here we land at the home of an upcoming DJ/Producer whose name is already on many established labels, and is keen to elevate his status even higher. Check this out, from Jhordan Welsch! 

Jhordan Welsch was born in Lima - Peru in 1986. As a child he was always related to art and music. During his early years in school, he learned to play several instruments and was greatly influenced by popular music genres. He began listening to electronic music in the early 2000's. Even though at first trance was the biggest electronic genre, soon enough the scene evolved and progressive house emerged. He was captivated by the selection of DJ's like Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Sasha, Nick Warren and many more. Melodic and progressive music was what he always loved, DJ'ing as a hobby using computers at first.

The pandemic proved to be a crucial time for his dedication to music. He began learning about music production and eventually signed his first track in 3rd Avenue, Madloch's fantastic underground label. Soon came other releases in labels such as AH Digital, Symmetric Records, Polyptych, Wander Nation Records, Future Avenue, Balkan Connection South America and South America Avenue. Some unofficial remixes came as well, which are contributing to his growth on platforms like Soundcloud. 

He has received the support of many established DJ's and producers such as Hernan Cattaneo, Fernando Ferreyra, JFR, Rigooni, Salazar, DJ Ruby, Balad, Ignacio Berardi, Mariano Favre and many others. The future seems hopeful for this emerging artist. With new music always on the way, he continues to receive the support of his peers through solid melodic releases.
