Hello Everyone, and Welcome to our final exclusive Progcast of 2023. Strap yourself in for our last trip around planet progressive for this year. We've taken a short trip from the South of England, to the hallowed North ... Manchester awaits you, and the home of a DJ who has achieved so much in such a short space of time. Please make some noise for the Manchild!!


Manchild, AKA Daz Smith is a Greater Manchester based DJ who refuses to be pigeon-holed, due to him playing what he wants. Comfortable with playing at any time on a line-up, whether that be warm-up, peak or closing time, all the Manchild cares about is that the crowd have the most untold time. 

After only getting back into DJing in 2019, and after a very long absence for family reasons, he fell back in love with the more Progressive sound all over again. Daz quickly became resident for Manchester brand ‘Up Close And Personal Mcr’, indulging in breaks, melodic techno, indie dance and more; Manchild's versatility allows him to flit seamlessly between all of the above. 

Since 2019 he has shared lineups and DJ space with James Zabiela, Cristoph, Anthony Pappa, Jody Wisternoff, Marsh, Cosmic Gate, Grum, John 00 Fleming, Richie Blacker, Mr Sosa, Estiva, My Friend, Fehrplay, Marcus James (Renaissance), Dave Pearce, Diode Eins, Tommy Farrow, John Kelly, Dave Beer and many more at venues such as London's Ministry of Sound, EGG, the Steel Yard and Manchester's Stage & Radio and Joshua Brooks' legendary basement. 

Already in early 2023 he has supported and handed the decks to technical wizard James Zabiela at Mains Castle in Dundee for 'Music is the Answer', and he's done exactly the same for the mighty Cristoph, and Cosmic Gate when supporting them on the UK leg of their 'MOSAIIK Chapter II' World Album tour at Joshua Brooks. Daz not only handed the decks over to Cristoph but also played B2B with him for a little while too. 

With more forthcoming gigs TBA, the Manchild is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon.

UK DJ – Will Day was born in ‘78 and grew up with sounds of The Prodigy – Jilted Generation, Carl Cox, Chemical Brothers, and Nirvana. He first started DJing in his early 20’s at house parties in Bournemouth on the South coast of England. He frequently listened to the best DJ’s in the UK at the time - Sasha and Digweed at the Manor, Carl Cox, Alex P, Dave Seaman, Tall Paul at the Opera House. Will’s style and influences are inspired by artists such as Sasha, John Digweed, Henry Saiz, Charlie May, Maceo Plex, Habischman, Dubspeeka, Solee, Christian Smith and Stephan Bodzin.

Will has played club nights in London, as well as gigs on the London festival scene. He currently plays at Bars and clubs in Reading and in Southern England.
Will plays a mixture of underground deep house, tech/progressive house, melodic techno, sometimes a few breaks. From beautiful vocals and dreamscapes to heavy pounding techno beats, it’s all wrapped up in a smooth progressive mix that takes you on a journey.
