NEWMEN from Frankfurt are back, and have teamed up with no one other than Wolfgang Flür, who is best known for being the drummer of perhaps the most influential band in electronic music, Kraftwerk, from 1973 to 1986. While the original version of 'Futur I' is a perfect reminescence of how pop music could sound, Fabrizio Mammarella brings in the rimini endorphines, everyone is craving for. Time for dusting the lasers!

NELLI - VOSTOCK - TRONIK YOUTH REMIX

The winter had been dark and cold, the spring not too dissimilar, so a lot of expectations had been placed on summer. Now the long days of sunshine stretched from the early hours to late into the evening; what the people had long yearned for had finally arrived. Sweaty foreheads, sunburnt faces and humid households were welcomed with open arms; when the sun hit hard, it really hit hard.

Mexican producers Mufti and Alf Champion launched their Fucanglong Files imprint in November of last year with a VA that cemented the dark and hypnotic sounds we'd be hearing from future releases. These sounds reign supreme on their second release, an EP from Paris-based producer and musician Id!r. Following up outings for Darkroom Dubs and Clouded Vision, 'Dry Lips' pulls from a plethora of murky influences from dark wave and EBM to disco and minimal synth, fuelled by guitar licks, heavy kicks and raw synth lines.

Latido records has its origin in the famous Mordisco Club parties (Granada, South of Spain) hosted by the dj duo and producers Mordisco (Atomnation, My Favorite Robots Records, Duro, Bedrocks, etc.). Artists such as John Talabot, Curses, Sascha Funke, Zombies in Miami, Red Axes or Jennifer Cardini among others have played at these parties. The Latido label is born from the characteristic sounds and influences of Mordisco Club.
The fourth volume of Latido is a journey through diverse ingredients and influences which range from techno or EBM to New Wave and the dark side of disco.
Lucare and Poulper's opening track, built around a disco-influenced bassline, with dark synth pads and electric guitar chords, gives way to Ivan de la Rouch, offering a broken rhythm with a powerful arpeggio and an electro flavor. Fugitiv is firmly committed to the post-punk and darkwave vibes of the 80s with aggressive and dramatic synts, before Álvaro Cabana closes the EP with force and momentum, giving a perfect artifact for lovers of arpeggiated sequences and expressive atmospheric melodies.

We are proud to present the fifth instalment of the Pal’s compilation, with talent from across the globe, coming together to create a collection to soundtrack these strange days.

First up, Aural Trace sets the scene with the slow burning celestial soundscapes of ‘Melange’, where choral overtones curl up snuggly along the drum machine, fusing organic and mechanics.

The influence of the Cologne School seeps through every pour of M Love’s ‘Oboda’ with warm analogue melodies oozing throughout. 
Churning distorted guitars twist between the throbbing tribal drums of Mufti’s 'Fascinatio'.

Marzian’s 'Conversaciones Delirantes' pulls us through a psychedelic shapeshifting bass heavy prism of sound. Sharp stabs cut through the bass on Flvn’s ‘Yule’, no mistake, this could soundtrack a slasher movie in-spite of its festive title.

Leo af Ekenstam’s ‘Stress’ carries a tense, yet driving groove punctuated by nervous guitars and shady atmospherics. 

A bubbling bit-crushed low end permeates Montessori’s 'Speed Dating’s dark EBM tinged muscular workout.

Stockholm Syndrome teams up with Lusca to craft a pumping retro synth infused stomper which twists and jitters from the opening bars to the last refrain.

Cabizbajo and Colossio also combine their production talent to create the cavernous feedback driven echofest of ‘Ley’ with twisted arpeggios and animal like sounds dancing in and around the drums.

Manner of Speaking play out with ‘the Unknown’, a brooding instrumental downtempo track which strikes a literal and figurative chord with the collective consciousness this past year.

"Good Skills“ is keeping its promise to represent the noise of local youth. This time Vilnius based label offers a couple of remixes and a remaster for rising Lithuanian electronica artist Palmės Žiedas and his track “Fhadi“. 

Originally released at the very end of 2020, “Fhadi” is a psychotic electronic piece with mysterious lyrical message about a man, who was trapped in a dragon’s lair. Track came out with a great music video, soaked with lo-fi aesthetics, where Palmės Žiedas was singing and playing synths in the woods and was well received by local melancholic electronica fans. Hopefully, the international crowd will appreciate the imaginary story of “Fhadi” too.

Co-boss of well-respected "Hard Fist” Tushen Raï happily picked up the task of turning “Fhadi“ into a dancefloor piece and took it for a trip to unknown desserts somewhere in the east. Sounds tight!

For the first remix for his own label, Roe Deers did what he knows best. Bass driven, a bit heated, powerful and fierce execution of “Fhadi” should work great at the peak of your set.

Who is Disco Mortale? A malevolent Italian super villain? No, Disco Mortale is the new alias of Daniel Monaco (SXDNS137) for his EBM and Dark Techno output. Based in Amsterdam, DM has been having a busy year with his new project with appearances on acclaimed Indie Dance labels such as Beat Is Murder, Espacio Cielo, HEARec, Roam, Logical, Mélopée, and Odd Pleasures, presenting both originals and collaborations. Now he lands on ESTHÉTIQUE with a beautiful EP called “Cathedral” featuring essential remixes by Myrddin (SXDNS277) & Aurum Miles.

If you are familiar with Daniel Monaco’s Italo-infused sonority, you will notice that as Disco Mortale he tends to explore different soundscapes, which proves how creative and versatile the Italian musician can competently be.

Premiered here, the title track brings DM flirting with a more sober and contemplative atmosphere, not so heavy, fat, and complex in comparison to some of his most recent works, we dare to say. It is as if he were just chilling at his studio while fooling around with his many an instrument and synthesizer, completely relaxed and carefree with the outcome. “Cathedral”, however, is an extremely well-crafted, rich, and elaborated piece with its percussive elements and church-bell-like leads. And even if it sounds as if it were constructed without the necessity of being a hit, it succeeds in depicting how easily Daniel can deliver a strikingly high-quality theme. Amen, brother!

Premiere CF: Los Dvtsuns ft. Hyper Trvshit — Futuro [Temblor]

The prominent Swedish duo of Elfenberg(@elfenberg) returns to the label after featuring with the wicked “Kebabsyra”on Rotten Citizens (@rotten-city-records) Compilation Vol.4. They've recently released music on labels such as Les Yeux Orange, Feines Tier and Hard Fist. The return to Rotten City will see the light of the long awaited “Elfenboogie EP”, containing three powerful peak time tracks with all the flavors they like: Acid, Disco and Tribal vibes.
“Vasta La Hista” is a clear example of a club bomb. Direct, raw, and psychedelic. 100% effective but non generic!

“Acid Cocoon’” dig into the darker vibes with a spooky and sexy female voice in a “Post-Electroclash” exercise.
With “Elfenboogie” they show us again their favorite elements; Percussion, drive, a soulful vocal and some random weirdness to top it off. "Let's do the Elfenboogie", "Come n Elfenboogie with us”, they always joked around with the term, that now is the title track on this very EP.

The release is complemented with a remix from Julian Sanza & Alvaro Cabana Remix. Both DJs residents at Kaputt Club (Bogotá) joining forces again to turn the Classic Disco vibe of “Elfenboogie” into a trippy and cosmic interpretation.

As She Rolled Another is born out of Vitelli’s desire to share a newly produced track along with significantly alternative versions of existing music, which were created for pleasure. Indeed, Vitelli wanted to play with existing material to take it in strikingly different directions, prior to his album's release.

The unreleased track features singer Izzy Lindqwister and additional production by Krikor. It is a plodding post-punk, dub-infused affair, intimate and insidious at the same time.

The EP also includes two club-oriented tracks he released on Les Disques De La Mort and Malka Tuti along with an alternate take in a kosmiche mood of his collaboration with Julienne Dessagne of Fantastic Twins, also found on his 2019 Malka Tuti EP.
