Taking power pop to less-traveled latitudes - is Chicago-based band, GO TIME! 

Go Time are no strangers to the Chicago music scene. GO TIME! was initially comprised of former Prairie Town members Scott Niekelski (composer/lead guitar/vocals), Marko Marketti (bass) and Steve Grzenia (percussion). GO TIME! officially formed when Prairie Town disbanded after a two-decade run. In 2008, musician Paul Schmidt answered an online ad seeking a guitarist and the rest is history. 

The band members have like-minded musical tastes and settled into a harder-edged, power pop groove. Scott is a prolific song writer. The debut CD, "Speak" was released in May 2009 with the follow-up CD, "Hit It" being released in December 2010 and now January 2012 “Boneshaker”.  They are currently working on the 4th CD and performing live dates.

Deeply submerged in amped up jangle and buzz, along with a healthy dose of subtle pop riffs and stream-of-consciousness transitions GO TIME recorded in their home studio for Sound Gypsy Records and Mike Hagler at King Size Sound Labs mastered the CD. Mike is known for mixing and mastering bands such as Wilco, Neko Case, The New Pornographers, The Redwalls, John Langford, The Mekons, Billy Bragg, Ezra Furman and Caliphone, just to name a few.

Peachy Keen, the new EP from Chicago genre-benders The Fox & the Hounds, is a screaming six-song odyssey through the satin-and-smoke-filled world of love, loss, betrayal, and revenge in which the band makes its home.

The Fox & The Hounds are touted as the area’s only Burlesque Rock and Roll band, whose live shows are subversively cathartic and soul-bearingly one of a kind. They were made to love you. They may also want to kill you.
 
Bandleader and eponymous Fox, Kendel Lester, debuted her group early in 2012 at a secret show in the basement of a venue in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. Since then, Lester and her Hounds have gone on to win battles of the bands, receive a nomination for a Chicago Music Award (Best Alternative Artist, 2014), and cultivate a following of devoted fans across the Chicago-land area.
 
These fans helped the group win a contest through Big Teeth Productions to produce a music video for their flashy new single, How the Other Half Live, a song that calls to mind a trio of femme fatales seducing their way up the social ladder in 1940s Los Angeles.
 
Long-time listeners of the band will hear something completely new on Peachy Keen. Fans will find heavily distorted guitars from Aidan Mouat and Mike Sviokla, coupled with the solid rock chops of bassist Ira Ochs and drummer Tony Panico. The powerhouse foursome provides a thrilling backdrop for Lester and co-singers Katie Astrauskas and Kate Brassel. RaxTrax’s Noam Wallenberg (I Fight Dragons, Jennifer Hall, Cards Against Humanity) provided the production.
 
The Fox & the Hounds have never been afraid to try new things, never been afraid to make bold choices with their sound and stage show, or take a new direction with their artistic vision. And the hundreds of fans who have followed them out of the basement in Lakeview and into the streets of Chicago have been rewarded at every turn.
