Immix is a new music ensemble who focus on collaborations with innovative musical voices from across the UK with a focus on artists from the Merseyside area. Drawing on the talents of some of the country’s finest instrumentalists, Immix exists as a vehicle to champion the work of forward thinking composers, songwriters, bands and electronic artists, and to cast a spotlight on emerging talent, with an emphasis on artists whose work slips between the cracks of style and genre.

John McGrath is an Irish guitarist, composer and author based in London. His music explores the boundaries of the ancient and modern as traditional elements meet improvisation and experimental tendencies. He has been interviewed / featured in The Wire magazine, Aquarium Drunkard, Burning Ambulance, The Skinny, Bido Lito!, BBC Radio, Radio New Zealand, Sideways through Sound, and Sydney's FBi radio and has had his music synched on various television shows and sounded at Tate Modern and FACT. John has performed the UK premiere of Rhys Chatham's "Die Donnergotter" in addition to "Guitar Trio" alongside the composer. He has also performed with Dustin Wong, Sharon Gal, Howard Skempton and the aPAtT Orchestra. A vinyl recorded as part of the Never Records installation at the Liverpool Biennial was reworked in a live performance by Philip Jeck. McGrath has been commissioned to write for the IMMIX ensemble and performed a number of new works alongside large arrangements of his work with the group. As a solo performer John has performed at a number of festivals and has supported Richard Dawson, Laraaji and Sun Araw.  He has a monograph with Routledge entitled, "Samuel Beckett, Repetition and Modern Music". John is a Lecturer in Music at University of Surrey.

I began playing the Tuba aged 13 at Beanfield Comprehensive School in Corby, Northamptonshire.  Like millions before, I practised, I got better and I joined other ensembles..... I've been lucky enough to play at all the major brass band contests but at 17 I discovered that I had an ability to write music.  This new found form of self expression was instantly appealing and I happily fell head first into writing; if for no other reason, it meant I could ditch Tuba scales and flexibility studies and go out and look at the world!!

After only two years of writing I was lucky to get into the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.  My composition tutor, Andrew Wilson-Dickson, was a massive influence on me as both a composer and a person.  I have to admit that I'm no academic and found the conforming aspects of institutional life rather hard!!  But having four years to write music is an experience I wouldn't swap for anything else in the world.

Music in general is not an easy profession to make a living but you can never grumble, getting by in life by conjuring sounds which have only ever occurred in your head is a great feeling..........

of YouTube and TikTok catching your attention with their infectious avant pop, bold
over the top visuals and gaming inspired looks that have gained the group a cult
following over the years
Hailing from Liverpool, UK, Stealing Sheep are a trio of Becky, Emily and Lucy -
friends and bandmates of 15 years who have fearlessly carved out their own brand of
pop championed through fan art and deep cut devotion. Drawing inspiration from
everything ranging from online Therian and cosplay communities to multidisciplinary
art of Jeremy Deller, KLF and Tracey Emin, Stealing Sheep presents a kaleidoscopic
sonic manifesto that is addictive with its oddball pop and explosive aesthetics. Their
self-described ‘visual pop’ might not have topped the charts, but it’s fuelled a
dedicated cult following (shoutout to the 6 Music dads keeping the faith!). Now, they’re back with a new album (GLO - Girl Life Online) and a new label (G-IRL - Girl In Real Life) - both marking a bold new era for Stealing Sheep. Produced by Joe
Wills at Nan’s House Studio, the new chapter presents a quintessentially
