HYBRIDCELL comes from a time when the rave was a secret, the music was raw, and everything felt like it might disappear by morning. A quiet mainstay of the ‘90s underground, his sound carries the weight of dusty basements, long-forgotten warehouses, and dancefloors that never saw the sunrise. For this episode, he returns not to relive the past, but to remind us where it all began.

We’re honoured to have him open the series our first ever edition of Impulse Podcast Series. A fitting debut from an artist whose roots run deep, and whose selections still speak to something timeless. The mix is full of energy, rich with character, and unfolds like a story only he could tell.

Know to most as Rob Glasgow. Has spent the last 30÷ years heavily involved in the Brisbane underground music scene. From the early days of raving and helping others with their events. As he had a real love for vaious forms of music. That love naturally lead him to learning the art of djing, then soon after he was playing around Brisbane. In the early days of djing he known for playing hard tribal grooves and techno. But occasdionally he would dabble in playing other genres like progressive house, trance and chilled ambient music.  He has though, focused purely on hypnotic and hard techno for the past 20 years. Building a following under the name HYBRIDCELL. In that 30 years, he accumulated a vast amount of knowledge. He apllies that knowledge whether performing or managing an event. He is a big believer in passing that knowledge on to anyone pursuing the path he has or any avid punters who are curious to learn more of what is involved behind putting events, music production or djing. His belief of the knowledge you aquire. is meant to be passed on. If you don't for the longevity of our music scene and the new generations coming through. What's the point working hard, building something together, to then let it just disappear.

Hearing tribal drums before he could walk, pogoing to punk and ska and collecting electro before becoming a teen....SubLife soon found himself dragging amps and speakers across the Cornish wastelands and abandoned buildings to support the UK squat party scene. Eventually  escaping the impoverished South West to explore Latin America, Europe, North Africa and Asia to finally set down roots in the Sunny Coast where the legendary DOOF crew could be found. The house and tekno styles that SubLife creates takes the listener on a journey that starts in your head and then swiftly moves your feet.
