Shuj Roswell is the latest musical creation of Denver's own, Mark A. Cooley. Releasing his debut album on Michal Menert's Super Best Records label in 2015, he carefully curates vinyl samples of 60's and 70's funk and soul as a foundation for his production. Fusing traditional sample based hip-hop techniques with warm analog synthesis and hard hitting beats, he sets the table for a sound within the Electro Soul movement he calls, Funk-tron-a-delic.

When playing out, Shuj Roswell Live takes the musical experience to the next level by bringing live instrumentation into the mix. Mark plays guitar and is accompanied on stage by drummer and good friend, Eric Imbrosciano. Eric comes from a hip-hop, funk, and jazz background originating from his early years gigging in and around the New York music scene. He injects a soulful vibe into the Shuj Roswell live sound from laid back hip-hop grooves to drum & bass breaks. Eric also performs in the jazz-fusion quartet, Space Orphan. You might have run into him as he hosts several open jams around the Denver area

In addition to his drummer Eric, Shuj Roswell Live consists of emcee, J. Shook, who’s recorded vocals on several Shuj Roswell tracks and a rotating who’s who on saxophone, trumpet and trombone. Mark recorded with and sampled his live band in the studio on the EP, Shuttlecock

I hacked my way back in… sorry n shit. 
I used to do drugs, but I’m 8 years clean now. Those freestyles were when I was on drugs in 2011 when I got out jail… it was a bad time, but I can’t delete them apparently.

The important thing to remember is I don’t live like that anymore.

Jim is a songwriter based in Denver Colorado.  His past projects include Corona Collective (Denver 2023), a songwriter collective; Golden Hues of Love (Boston 2013), a guitar-bass-drum trio focusing funk, rock and world rhythms behind Jim's emotive songs;  North Going Zax (Boston 2013), a trio with Jim on drums behind the melodic jazz songwriting of Matthew Otto.  Lo & Behold (Boston 2012), a trio with Jim on vocals and guitar, independently writing, playing, recording, and releasing limited copies of  the EP, Rumblings.

A little about the bands featured on this page - The Late Bloomers  started in High School 1996, features Danny Feinblum on bass/vocals & Evan Jones on drums. "This One's For Dick" was recorded, mixed & mastered by Jordan Oliver @ Unipeg Studios in Boulder, CO. Next came Thruster includes Dan Neal on bass/vocals & Trevor Sholders on drums. "Glue This In Your Stereo" was recorded, mixed & mastered by Jason Livermore @ The Blasting Room In Fort Collins, CO. The live tracks were performed & recorded @ Herman's Hideaway in Denver, CO.         Ever since CurlyOnE first stepped up to the decks back in 1999, he's been picking up momentum… and he is definitely not showing any signs of slowing!

	Born in 1980, and having been brought up on a steady diet of golden-era Hip-Hop, 80's club beats and classic Salsa/Latin Jazz records, he had a fascination with turntables, poly-rhythmic drums and pumping baselines…

...So it's no wonder that his journey into the DJ realm started in the House and Techno raves of the Mid-West, with a pair of belt-drive turntables and a desire to move the crowd.  Spending hours locked away in the bedroom teaching himself how to mix, it wasn't long before his skill level was on par with those who were at the forefront of the local music scene.

	After discovering the sounds of Jungle/Drum and Bass in the early 2000's, he was driven by the desire to mix the street-savvy beats from his youth with futuristic, alien sounds that were being pushed through speaker stacks at the parties he attended.  

	Having finished college back home in Puerto Rico, CurlyOnE returned to Colorado in 2004.  He immediately begin immersing himself in the local music scene, playing small local shows, helping promote events, and networking with like-minded individuals.  By the end of 2008, he discovered the sounds of Dubstep,  and became completely obsessed.  A chance encounter with members of Denver's Sub.mission Crew was all he needed to send him in the right direction, and he's been putting in work ever since.

	He's been blessed to have performed at some of Colorado largest EDM events, including Global Dance Festival and Skylab.  However, he does not limit himself to the EDM world… He's been on several tours across the state playing shows with artists such as Souls of Mischief, Masta Ace & Edo G,  Sweatshop Union, Prime Element, and Grieves.  He has even held the honor of being "party-rock DJ" for the Colorado DMC Championships 3 years running.
